I'm going to try to turn "gives other people's opinions instead of own opinions by mistake" into a superpower by going through Bulba's ISO and charting his opinions about everybody else and how they changed throughout the game. This will hopefully help me to detect things like bussing, softbussing, deflecting, ignoring certain players, defending, etc.

+ means Bulba has a positive opinion about someone or defending them from criticism

Bulba liked my predecessor for a while, when some of the heads were liking Drixx some of the like splashed over onto my slot and when some of the heads were disliking Drixx some of the dislike splashed onto my slot. Since I took over the dislikes have been more due to my own misstakes I think, but he's been civil with me and tried to get me to explain my thinking -- which is predominantly how he's treated his other scumreads too.

They've been back and forth a bit on Titus. Initially they weren't so happy with the slot, then when Titus took over they were townreading her for a while, then they were annoyed with her, then they were getting a long until Mastin came back, which I'm not really sure what to make of.

Initially didn't like Brantz, then a while later disapproved of someone else voting Brantz, then in the third interaction about Brantz is telling Lucian that Brantz is a candidate for a vig shot. Towards the end defends Brantz to Drixx when he feels Drixx is being unfair in a push against Brantz. Positive/neutral interactions with Brantz until finally in 6028 which was yesterday lists Brantz as a lynch candidate for today. I'm not sure if this is due to Brantz' ability, Brantz not being conftown +PoE or something else. Bulba, would you like to clarify?

The three heads are divided about drixx, early on I think one was townreading and the other scumreading driix, but eventually they settled into mostly townreading drixx until that thing in day 2 when they tried to reach out to drixx a bunch of times and eventually gave up. After that they scumread the slot for a while, and the best they currently have to say about drixx is that he's the least likely scum in [titus, me, narninian, drixx]

They have consistently scumread Oranje since fairly early day1 (thought not at the very beginning of the day), though they were civil towards Oranje when talking to them and answering questions from them and were occasionally willing to work together with Oranje to off a mutual scumread. Then in 4926 when Narninian was listing potential lynch targets or luciankill targets don't quite remember, Bulba says "nah" about Oranje as a potential kill and then is positive towards them ever since. What changed?

(I'm writing these short summaries on day 7 because I need to use the preview function to work, though I did the ISO diving and -+?ing during the night phase., which means my memory is a little fuzzy about some of the details but I'm confident about the overall picture.)

mutually tunnelled with copper but it felt more like a town tunnel to me because they remained civil with each other and occasionally admitted that copper was right when they felt copper raised a good point. Towards the end their primary complaint about copper was that copper was still tunnelling them.

Spent the first day feeling deathfisaro out, then was mostly neutral towards him. The negative posts were mostly about disagreements about logic or about death's playstyle and then later on about the "no result"/"investigation proof" misunderstanding.

Had good rapport with Ika throughout and they were townreading each other. It was hard for him to accept Ozgin's result at first and he spent some time looking for alternate explanations which also felt genuine to me, like was having trouble making sense of how this could be true when he was townreading her so strongly, but he did vote for her in the end and accepted her guilt in a way that felt natural to me too. I would have expected scum to do some mild distancing instead of what Bulba did.

Narninian

Bulba was conflicted about Narninian from the beginning, but at the start of Day 2 when Narninian confessed to redirecting onto Marquis, Bulba felt that this was a mistake but he was town for owning up to it. I also thought this. He's kind of neutral towards Narninian through the rest of the game. He calls him out when he's being scummy, defends him when he makes sense. By yesterday, he was feeling negative enough towards Narninian that he put him in the small pool of final entries for the remaining scum. I was still townreading Narninian when I read all these posts so i might need to reread them again to see if I think they were distancing from each other or just consistently not sure what to make of each other but because of Ika I was pretty sure Bulba wasn't red so I'm sticking to that.

Orange:

Bulba was consistently suspicious of Om the nom and elusive and noticed some things were off especially about elusive that I didn't even notice when I was first joining this game, for example about the odd choice of ISOs that elusive read (mostly people long dead). At the time I thought maybe she just knew what she was doing better than I did but now I think I was the right one choosing to read the ISOs of the living.

town motivation for this: cerberus was town asking the question so bulba could be town sharing their sincere beliefs, perhaps influenced by the position of their scumreads on the wagon in question and other wagons. This makes sense because his scumreads were not on VysePresident's wagon: elusive, vonflare, and so was drixx who I think he was only disagreeing with not actively scumreading at the time.

Bulba was voting lucian at this time so we know they weren't bussing at the time. If they were lying about theory and was scum then I would expect them to be bussing while they said this.

scum motivation for this: i can't find one.



Despite scumreading Bulba going into this, I like what I see in the first 4000 posts of this game. Yes they townread pirate ika even past ozgin claiming a guilty up until pirate ika's death, but they didn't seem nervous about it between ozgin's guilty and the death or try to distance himself which is what I would have expected.

They were caught in a mutual tunnel with copper until copper's death but in my 1 game worth of experience I've only seen townies doing that against each other, which doesn't mean that scum doesn't do it too, of course scum does, but it all seemed very genuine to me and like they both had fair points against each other.

I also really like how civil Bulba consistently is even with their scumreads. They seem really openminded and like they're genuinely open to their scumreads changing their mind about things.

I also can't see Bulba being orange because they were really against both vonflare and vysepresident for reasons that I agreed with. Bulba incorrectly re-evaluate their read on vysepresident partway through but it seems like they were just wrong.

They were also wrong about Lihin and Jackel but the reasons they were wrong seem fair enough.

That said, it does seem like they were flailing a bit when deathfisaro called them investigation immune. If I had an investigative role and I got a no result from somebody I would also conclude that they were immune to investigation. I wouldn't be thinking Reflexive Jailkeeper I'd be thinking roleblocker or Godfather or something. Or I'd be checking the wiki to find out what no result might mean. The wiki mentions Ascetic so I had to look that up. I mean if this were a newbie game the only option would be "mafia roleblocker" I think?

I get that this is a rolemadness game and that deathfisaro had claimed to enjoy setup spec so he should be less likely to be confused by things like this but Bulba really overreacted in response which is out of step with all of Bulba's reactions prior to this: being annoyed at drixx-titus, being tunnelled by copper, his interactions with oranje and boonskiies while he was scumreading them, etc.

Sure death was tunnelling them but copper tunnelled them too and that didn't panic them so much. Bulba has been cool and collected all game and when deathfisaro interprets "no result" to mean "investigation immune" which seems like a logical conclusion, Bulba panicks. Why? This still doesn't sit well with me. Even though I'm pretty convinced Bulba's neither red nor orange and Bulba's only blue if the blue team were all independent of each other and didn't know who each other were.

I do like Titus' interaction with Bulba in 4787.

It feels really levelheaded and protown to me when Bulba doesn't hesitate to acknowledge when their scumread has made a good point.


tl;dr: I was wrong about Bulba. Bulba is green, unless the other players who are better at setup spec think it's likely that the blue team could have all been independent of each other and not know who each other were, in which case I think Bulba is blue.

I'm not sure if being wrong about Narninian means I'm wrong about Bulba too but I don't think I am. Keeping track of how their feelings towards other players changed over the course of the game, it all felt very town motivated. Their changes in opinion seemed natural and a result of being flexible and keeping an open mind.

I'm also starting to hope that we're out of red and orange teams but I don't know if this is premature or not. I am dabbling in setup spec to suggest that maybe there is 1 final werewolf that becomes superpowered when the other werewolves die, thus eviscerate becoming devour, but I don't have any evidence for this outside my own imagination so I just wanted to know what other people thought.


If there's only one left then I think it probably is Oranje because I liked deathfisaro's theory even though deathfisaro was wrong about other stuff (including how to behave).

I don't remember reading speculation that any team had more than 3 on it, so I am thinking there are probably no teammates left.

===Other Reads===
I also read BBmolla last night and I thought maybe Oranje and BBmolla were bussing each other throughout the game (I can post the wall I wrote while reading BBmolla's ISO if anyone wants to see it. it was more in the style of my previous walls than this one is). I now think that nobody has any teammates left so I don't know if that still makes bbmolla scum or not.

My main problem with BBmolla was that his playstyle is very different from mine, that he dislikes walls (mentions somewhere that he finds them scummy), and as such he never really explains his reads he just has them and it was pretty hard to follow because whatever his gut was telling him -- and he was right sometimes and wrong other times just like anybody else -- my own gut was just talking about where's dinner, you know? so he's just completely opaque to me. going to come down on the scum side of the fence for him because other people were asking him to explain himself but he just seemed to do lots of driveby reads without explanation or context and then lots of setup spec which is an easy place for scum to hide.

I thought it would be either drixx or boon for scum but not both but that just means on the same team so I dunno. I really liked Narninian's arguments against boon yesterday but since scum made those arguments I don't know if he was telling the truth or not. Boon has been all over the place all game. His play has been more like vonflare/peregrine than anything. Maybe he's just like that? But between the two of them I'll say drixx = town, boon = scum for now.

I think Titus is town but Bulba doesn't. The hat thing worried me a lot when I first saw it because in my newbie game scumHouse befriended me and I couldn't think of any scum motivation for being nice to me when they could have just hammered me so I townread house after that. And then I learned about buddying on the wiki so when the town cop was townreading me and tried to befriend me I tunnelled them to oblivion. and then tunnelled the townie who had been tunnelling the cop with me. So I saw Titus trying to be friends with House when House first came in and didn't know anything yet and that made me nervous, but I think it was just because house was almost conftown when he joined in and probably they knew each other already and anyway house could look after himself.

I thought Narninian was town but I was wrong.

I feel okay about brantz. I've read his ISO a bunch of times now and nothing really jumps out, so town I think. maybe i should do this +- thing for him.

Another one of my scum reads comes up scum. I'm enjoying the amount of "I was right" karma I'm earning in this game. I'll try not and be too insufferable.

As a general thought that occurred to me this morning ... it seems a bit unwise to count on the whole cross protecting doctors thing. Relying on mechanics being broken as a crutch is bad. Let's just go ahead and find and kill whomever is devouring people (nice to see some scum on scum action!) and kill. Any thoughts on whether nuked from orbit is going to show up end of day?

A little speculation on devour. The timing of it showing up could be something werewolf related? Eviscerate disappeared, devour appeared. Maybe the final werewolf becomes strongman killer or something and the kill flavor changes because of the increased rage? Totally spitballing there ... just seems like a strange co-incidence to have a new kill flavor appear so late right as another one disappears. Maybe seeing a connection there because humans look for patterns and there isn't actually one there.

And ... still pretty sure the Boonskiies discussion from twilight makes a ton of sense. Sometimes things just fit really snug with what you know and what you observe. This is def one of those times.
