Doubting Thomas
Origin
The term is based on the Biblical account of Thomas the Apostle, who doubted the resurrection of Jesus and demanded to feel Jesus' wounds before being convinced (John 20:24-29). After seeing Jesus alive and receiving the opportunity to touch his wounds — according to the author of the Gospel of John — Thomas professed his faith in Jesus; on this account he is also called Thomas the Believer.
If you know who it is, it's not that trippy.

Why not? If it's down to me and one other, why not say I'm town. It's not like i'm a power role.JDodge wrote:Qman: why the claim?
It also lets you know you can take me out of consideration, it's not as if the town doesn't have a massive advantage right now, I wouldn't gain anything out of lying to you all. I'll wait for Whome to clear or confirm either NAR or Remus to vote or one of em. If he investigates me, well, you'll know i didn't lie.
But I'd have to agree, I think it'll be remus.

Could you do like a more formal claim or something?Qman wrote:Doubting Thomas

It's okay guys, he's a townie. I mean, as a townie, why would he lie about being a townie? It's ridiculous to think that he is scum and lying about being a townie. Since that is not the case, we can safely mark him as confirmed.Qman wrote:Why not? If it's down to me and one other, why not say I'm town. I'd vote you for that if you weren't confirmed.

@Jdodge
Thats fine with me.
Personally, making the game last another day to just get lynched tomorrow is a waste of my time, it keeps me from getting in another game i could win.
Remus, it was at Spambot
@spambot
Soo... how exactly is saying I'm a plain townie, saying my role name is Doubting Thomas, and then giving you who he was not a formal claim, what exactly is missing for you?

I was asking more for you to say something like "I am Doubting Thomas, townie". It's mostly based on me not believing that role name. Like, if you are supposed Thomas the Apostle, from the origin you cited, why is your role name Doubting Thomas? Doesn't that imply that your role is the guy that doubted Jesus?Qman wrote: @spambot

I don't really like flavor arguments, but I got nothing else until WhoMe? posts.
Also, you saying that you would concede as scum is very WIFOM.

I am Doubting Thomas, townie.
Happy? Heh.
Doubting Thomas is also a very accepted method to refer to Thomas the Apostle, he's probably better known as Doubting Thomas in fact. I use the term Doubting Tom to describe someone that has to see something to believe it. Which is exactly what he was.
As for why that name? Ask the Mod. *I* didn't pick it. And if I was making it up, I WOULD have used Thomas the Apostle, not the more questionable Doubting Thomas.
Facts:
A.) We have two lynches to find the last scum.
B.) The cop will die tonight, since the doc is already dead.
C.) If you really want to lynch me, go for it, I'll have no sympathy if/when you lose if you waste your lynch on me today BECAUSE I claimed town.
D.) The way I worded C probably didn't help me any, oh well.

Greetings from Moscow guys. I was flying yesterday which is why i am late.
I investigated NaR yesterday, there had been a couple of attacks on him by xyzzy and I wondered if they were supposed to be distancing,. tho in hindsight, the chance of him being a double decker bus was probably very low.
He reads innocent.
I think that means we have won, either today or tomorrow. I hope today as that would mean I get to live to enjoy the victory.
I'll come in with a vote when I find some time to re-read Qman, remus, and how the confirmed scum interacted with them.
p.s. really nice to have my xyzzy suspicions confirmed!

There's not so much to go on here. I'm going to plump with a
I don't like his role claim - I suspect an Apostle would be a power role, also he has been FOS'd by xyzzy, who had previously mentioned how scum have to appear suspicious of each other. I know it's not much, but it's more than I could find on remus
vote QMan

Jdodge was targeted night one by my role's kill, I didn't have control of it then.

Now, life is civilized. Once there was a city, barbaric in its ways. Yet, they were an empire. But even before that, they were two brothers. They fought. Remus said ow, and it all began.

The town had faith in the one who professed to be God, and followed his advice in lynching the final scumbag Qman.
Unfortunately, Qman had never been scum. He was simply a lost soul seeking salvation. instead he was sent to Hell.
Qman - Doubting Thomas (Vanilla Townie) has been killed.
It is now Night 4. Please get any and all choices in ASAP.
