On EM, do people who CC and then retract typically get held as town or scum, rmp?
Also, fuzzy, faster games tend to be lower quality games, at least when measuring quality in the way I like to. Just look at our Marathon games. They're fun, sure, but they're not nearly as enjoyable as regular Mafia, in my experience.- Rob14

What's the advantages to claiming now when under no pressure over claiming later if necessary and keeping your ability to kill in the meantime? I just don't see any advantage, and I think it was a mistake. In post 674, rmpeacoc wrote:I thought about it a lot before I claimed and it is TYPICALLY how we play this setup over on EM.

Typically, the vig is considered a hindrance to the town, iirc. Don't shoot anyone tonight. The perks of claiming early- scum likely won't NK them. Just don't shoot anyone tonight, rmp. There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

So if vig is a hindrance to town (which I don't agree with, but I'll let it go for now), then why would you want scum to NOT nk them, especially with so many other PRs. If you accept that argument (that vig is a hindrance to town), they shouldn't claim with the hopes that scum will shoot them and not one of the other 2 town PRs that definitely help town no matter what.- Jake from State Farm

because leaving him alive gives us a clear, you just hope the vig has restraint. Personally I always shoot as vig, so if I was vig I would shoot no matter what, even if it is advisable not to. I got flack for it on EM also.ShowThings I've learned.

Disagree. Face to face is the most enjoyable Mafia experience in my opinion and they only last 20-30 minutes generally. In post 675, Rob14 wrote:Also, fuzzy, faster games tend to be lower quality games, at least when measuring quality in the way I like to. Welllllllllll.
The micro game you linked is pretty outdated.
My whole stance on lukers changed after this game. I went hardcore after scum who kept placing his vote and actively going after the lurker. I did not however go after him for going after the lurker, but for other reasons.
^ This is the reason why I see going after lurkers a safe and easy place.
(I'm very aware you pretend to believe you see a scum slip, but I can promise you.. it won't be a slip at all)

I can't believe you unvoted because you thought we were the vig. If you were scum and didn't out the vig you would have tried to kill me during the night. Two different play styles rolled into one. - Guille

The fact that Jake went make to Pirate's 253 as I requested and did NOT call out the "Why me" comment in that post is questionable. Why did it stick out so much when I did it but you didn't pick up on it from Pirate? The most likely reason, in my opinion, is that you were searching for potential reasons that I was scum AFTER you developed your "read" on me (i.e. scum trying to think up reasons to validate a read that they're being forced to explain). If you actually held "Why me = fry me" to be a valid scum tell, you would read for it and would have picked it up in Pirate's post.- Jake from State Farm

unfortunately I don't see any more recent games that mention lurker so that's all I had available to me. And I never unvoted you, because I never voted you until this most recent vote.In post 688, Piratecat wrote:Welllllllllll.

I didn't forget where my vote was, I knew absolutely where it was. I just remembered that now that I know you were not actually hinting at being the vig, I had no reason to not vote you. The only reason I voted Rob over you was because I definitely thought you were the vig.In post 689, Piratecat wrote:Jake.. You also never voted us before.. I already thought she was scum, the only reason I had not voted her previously was due to thinking she was the vig. until you ladies sign your posts, I have no clue who is saying what and I have no idea what game you are referring to.
my play isn't too much different than some of my earlier games. I got away from it for a while but me being on v/la gave me a chance to get back to it. I call it my "Snarky" play style. I do it for a reason.
I thought you were the vig because of these posts, your reactions seem over the top imo, which means that it is forced either because you are scum or the vig. I was err'ing on the side of caution.
In post 18, Piratecat wrote:What is the benefit of the vig claiming? In post 15, Piratecat wrote:Yes, because Outting the vig on Day 1 is real decent play.

Why can't I be town and post that?

Which is why I didn't jump to my conclusion without first asking you to specifically analyze Pirate's post as detailed as possible. You did analyze the parts you found important in great detail, and you didn't feel it prudent to include a scum-tell that you supposedly value. I stand by my conclusion that this makes that particular tell on me seem forced, in retrospect. In post 692, Jake from State Farm wrote:

@Pirate - I can't tell you guys apart. Mostly because I make no effort to.
Also, since rmp outed himself, those vig posts quoted by Jake were a large portion of my initial town read on Pirate. Nothing Pirate has done has indicated scum to me in any way, though.
@Jake - In #600, you say there's no way you'd buy Pirate as a vig despite the posts you just quoted (which you specifically referenced). So why again were you not voting Pirate before? - Rob14
