Spirits weren't exactly high, but they were optimistic in Columbia as the town reconvened after the events of the night. The revelation of the two interlopers had prompted an early happy hour in many of the downtown bars, and that was were the incident occurred.

Upon being questioned, witnesses said they saw Bulbazak get surrounded by a group of guys, each apparently just wanting to get him to join their group. Though they couldn't hear what Bulb said in response, by the group's reaction it wasn't positive, nor was it light in any way. The talk got more and more intense until Bulbazak suddenly decked one of the guys, initiation a brawl. Police were quick to arrive, both due to the aforementioned early happy hour and because a pair of cops happened to be walking by a few seconds after the brawl started, and they began to break it up. Bulbazak, despite being the one to start the fight, had gotten most of the attention and bore most of the bruises and injuries. He was quickly arrested, but before they could drag him to his car he broke free and began to run. One of the officers quickly brought up a gun in an attempt to shoot an arm or leg to keep him from, but right as he fired Bulbazak took an unlucky stumble that put the bullet straight through his chest and heart, killing him pretty much instantly.

The officers in question quickly called paramedics and inspected the body, and couldn't stop a small cheer from the crowd when a passing civilian spots some notes falling out of bulb's pockets, dashing in for a look, and calling out Bulb's mobster status before the officers can react. Chagrined, but unable to truly attempt to dampen their spirits, the two cops stood watch over the body until paramedics could arrive and take care of the body.

Bulb was announced dead that night.

As the night lasted, those who chose to stay up past midnight would notice something odd from downtown: the muffled but rushed exodus of cars and trucks and the hissed orders of retreating men and women. Come the morning the townspeople would find the deserted homes and businesses that the mafia had taken or built for themselves, and would have to find some new use for them. But that's a different story.

In the meantime, one of the last night predators gave someone a rather invasive visit in the middle of this exodus. Mastin2 happened to live somewhat near this, so her unwelcome guest's entrance was masked. She struggled valiantly against her foe, but in the end was no match. Her relatives would find her body lying in her room, throat torn out and body mauled with multiple lacerations.

Suspicions of coordination would rise like rumors, but eventually be squashed. Those who knew mastin promised to hunt down the final invader in her memory.
