I'm a big proponent that to get to final 2 in survivor requires having done something right. Even more so in MS Survivor where a lot of the more social elements are stripped in favour of increased strategy.
For a person to come into merge in the minority, and last to final 2 isn't a fluke, even if you consider them a goat.
Is there a failing in being unable to convince the jury of your activities or worthyness? YEah, especially if you don't write anything, but there's something to be said about it and I'm not sure any finalist belongs this low.

Middle Earth was a Final 3, if I recall.

Eh... I guess that puts him a little lower in my mind, but certainly not under 350.
But that's kinda just my own viewpoint on the game, so it's by no means a hard and fast condemnation of the cut.

I kinda forget it was an f3 he's that forgetful. He has like no story at all. It was a different time then too, he wouldn't be a finalist in games now. Not by a long shot.

If this were a ranking based on everyone's gameplay, I would agree that he's above 350, but this is a ranking based on how good of a character everyone was. And even if he did do some things right to get to the end, it was not in an entertaining way!

In a gameplay ranking, Gothmog would be a steady #106.

(Seriously though, huge thanks to everyone who worked/is working on the spreadsheet, especially Drench. I find the data on that enthralling.)

To be fair Crazy, I think Nightwing did make a move against Huntress, which was fairly interesting, and you were in the first tribe majority alliance, sporting a rivalry with Two Face to top it off! Not a spectacular character sure, but probably not quite as boring as you claim

I'm confused by these cuts, they're from games i don't know anything about, but they seem to me to not be things that happen from from the descriptions being given.
There are more forgettable characters out there still, or at least players I've forgotten as actually doing anything.

Some finalists are just boring because you can predict them being irrelevant long before they make it. See: Survivor Cook Islands. Did you know that was a Final 3? The jury sure didn't. Although we ridicule Playing for Second a lot, it has occured to me that on the show getting second definitely has a monetary reward so it's not really that unreasonable to want to be dragged if you weren't going to win anyways. Being exciting and getting voted out sixth (see Cambodia) lowers your paycheck.

There are two places.
First and not-first.
Also, getting 6th or getting 2nd, you still make good money for your time either way. The dropoff after the 1st->2nd one isn't that huge?

I could have sworn I did this last night!
352. Colin (pickemgenius) - Hyrule
"Hey everybody,
If you are getting this it is to inform you that I have now become the perfect goat."
If, as CC said, we're at the point where we're cutting people who actively diminished seasons, I think this is an appropriate time to cut Colin. Colin was incredibly UTR all game and didn't have much of a story. He was on Zora, which was a very interesting tribe, but was overshadowed by the other characters on it. When the first merge vote didn't go his way because of an idol, he decided he would act as a universal goat and essentially stop playing the game. This got him voted out immediately.

There's a pretty big difference between 100k for 2nd and 2500 for last. I think the general consensus is 5th/6thish you get around 10k? Still huge.
And then you get into the non-placement awards like how a certain fedora asshole has somehow escaped with two cars because AMURIKA...
(The top 50 in the rankdown should basically be the people who would have won fan favorite cars right?)

5th/6th has to be more than like 10k.

That gap is probably more like pre jury and jury.
Regardless it's only speculation anyway

You do realize the winner of the fan favorite award doesn't get a car right

"Survivor: Panama and Cook Islands
Starting with Panama, viewers could vote for their favorite castaway for a chance to win a car. This award was also used in Cook Islands. "
