Hectic had been rather surprised to learn that mastina did not own a mobile phone or telephone of any kind. She was old-fashioned like that.
He made his way up to the Titles department, and knocked on the Title Fairy's office door.
"Come in."
Hectic entered. The office was beautifully furnished, with exquisitely painted walls on all sides. In the centre of the room, mastina sat on top of a small statue of a marble wall, her hands together, silently contemplating.
"Hectic, I've been expecting you. Listen, you can be quite good accuracy-wise, but you're not very charismatic and not good at obvtowning. Like myself, your scumgame is better than your towngame at looking town. My scumgame is more logical than my towngame. My scumgame is more precise, clean, altogether held together, than my towngame. My towngame is a mess, chaotic, hectic, altogether not well-designed. And that brings me to my second point..."
Hectic frowned, maybe there'd been some kind of mistake? Had Krazy told mastina to give him a lecture?
"...in that game, Flavor Leaf was scum," mastina continued, "For the record, if he active lurks like that, you should be okay with a policy launch on his slot just in case there's the chance he was scum. Then again, if FL pulled his normal antics in a game, I'd probably then say I'd be down to policy launch FL for said antics. That said, it narrowed down the probable lurker-scum pool to 2/3; not bad odds to be honest..."
The realisation hit Hectic like a ton of bricks, or more accurately, like a ton of walls. He was witnessing mastina wallposting before his very eyes.
"...and fifthly, because it is an assumption that is disproportionately likely to be the truth. Also, how to read me is really really easy. Lurking, not contributing, stunted, stilted, artificial, precise, calculated, calm, cool, posting? Scumastina. Hyperposting, pure chaos, randomness, flow, emotional posting? That's me as town. It works 100% of the time. Point me to a vc, while I was reading, that said skitter was on L-1. I am not working with perfect knowledge of what votes are..."
Several hours passed.
"...which is why I swear to you, kid you not, that Chara legit just gives off the quintessential Ydrasse vibes because the things people describe from Chara are things that aren't out of place from Ydrasse. Doesn't matter if Chara is a different person from Ydrasse, they give off the same sort of vibe to me, swear to god, if people approached the slot like it were Ydrasse then even though Chara probably isn't Ydrasse that approach is still going to be a net positive because of the similarities."
mastina paused, "So, anyway, what are you here for?"
Hectic snapped out of his mind palace, this was his chance! "I'm playing a versus game and-"
"Oh, playing a game? That reminds me of how I come from the school of thought of breadcrumbing so blatantly that people write it off as a joke because there's no way that I could actually be claiming my actual real role so openly and casually like that, right? After all, there's no way a cop would tell everyone "hey guys, I am a cop" on day one and then do exactly what they said they would, so casually, or..."
Hectic sighed in resignation, and made himself comfortable on the floor.
