Is anyone other than the poster able to set someone for V/LA?

You want to be able to set other people V/LA?

Yes.

I hope you can see how wrong that is.
Some bastard might set you to V/LA until Dec 31 2012.

I'm thinking that Mods should be able to set players in their games to V/LA if the players either don't know about it or aren't able to. It could also be the control freak in me coming out.

It's probably a Very Bad Idea.

If a player goes V/LA without announcing it, that's a flake, isn't it?
Or do you mean announce it but forget to change it in the UCP?
If the latter, I'd say inform Flay and make him do your work.

There are a huge number of people who are not aware of the option of setting it yet.

Maybe could add Game Mods the ability to do so for players in their games (say, someone announces it by PM and forgets to set it), but that'd be a ways down the line, if ever.

Is it my imagination, or didn't we used to have Read/Unread icons in the PM box?

V/LA will now last until the
end
of your end date (server time), instead of the beginning.

And there is a huge number of people who appear to have set it on for the maximum time who aren't V/LA.

People are still doing that?

We can unset them if it becomes a huge problem. Where's your proof they're not V/LA?

I don't care that much. I've simply noticed plenty of posts coming from people who have the V/LA banner. I haven't checked on the "limited" access part.

Essentially I feel like the banner is meaningless; but that doesn't bother me because I intend to ignore it.

It'd be nice if there was a way to distinguish between 'limited' and 'no' access, but that's a later refinement, if ever.

I'm not sure if the problem is specific to me or general but Help! always has unread posts. Then when I check the forum there are none. If I "mark forum read" it works until a new thread so it's *really* minor but I was intrigued if anyone else has it.

I can't recall where, but it has been talked about before. At length. Flay knows where, I'm sure.
