early on in Datisi and I's PT there was this conversation we had that exposed something we didn't like in S_S's ISO.

for context, Smart posted this:

I guess I don't actually have to read Galron now, I just have to read Mala now. If I think she's got a decent chance to be town then it would be better to let her pair with Galron on the offchance that he becomes obvtown or spewed town or something.

to paraphrase our PT, basically I said I couldn't understand Smart's 2324 because if Smart were town and knew his own alignment, it would make more sense for him to want to pair with Galron rather than leave it up to an unknown Mala slot that he (or anyone) might get wrong

Datisi replied saying he could follow 2324 if S_S's assumption was that Mala would have a better chance of correctly becoming townread by the game at large than he would. But then Datisi pointed out that in an earlier post (1934), Smart said he wanted to turn his slot around, so there was an inconsistency there that makes 2324 look vaguely like posturing

I agreed and we decided we should ask about it in the main thread, which lead to my 2701.

The whole conversation felt organic to me, like I don't smell any sense of agenda or calculation in how Datisi went about highlighting this point and using my previous thought process as a springboard for it. I remember being happy it felt like the first true instance of us teaming together and doing some ~ solving ~ as a pair

I'm assuming you/Ydra had similar conversations in your PT, but can you highlight some where Ydra helped correctly guide you towards suspicion of scum? especially early on, before bussing would really make a lot of sense or provide an advantage

okay, so. a day or two ago, when people were considering me being scum, i started thinking how that makes no sense, because like - in that world, s_s is the endgamer. my pair has been tainted for a *long* while, and at some points it was practically inevitable that we will end up flipping. if that were the case, i'd have told s_s to bus the everliving shit out of me and go to endgame. like i would've been dead already. then i realized that is also valid for gl being town.

however, now i see that i have been wrong about my gamestate reads *somewhere*. because the idea of "s_s is scum who was trying to keep the status quo, and that status quo was to flip the ic pair and me/gl" is kinda wrong because that assumed his partner was in alyssa/rh9 and uh well they're not

i'm free for the day so i'll try to figure out the fuck is happening. a note to myself is that i should probably look at the part of the game where s_s/galron seemed like the most likely designated endgame pair.

so what are the odds he wasn't here for the 20 minutes from alyssa's case to her leaving to tell her to not do it, but he's here 2 minutes after the flip

...and only after typing this whole thing, i had enough brain to check when did pooky alert us that a pair had left the dance, and it actually does leave enough time for gl to see the pm and get here without it looking like scum who saw a t/t pair getting paranoid and not wanting to interrupt

i mean i know at this point i'm just gonna be going through the game going like "haha i have not been pocketed the whole game i have not been pocketed the whole game i have nOT BEEN--" but i Do Not like this

at that point i had four pairs in the “should probably kill list” and their pair was one, norwee felt weird to me but i was also recently coming off of a game where i thought he was town until he was literally mech confirmed scum so there wasn’t a lot i really like pursued when i was townreading marci given my experiences with her

and then the votes popped up onto him and he instantly lashed out like “i knew you were scum” which felt so instinctually just ... not good to me that it solidified into “this is weird, why?” to “he’s immediately going on the attack at the easiest target” or rather one who hadn’t outwardly said why i was voting him at a base level after his response to actual reasons was lackluster
