Humm humm...

Question (for anyone who feels like answering):
I have a decent amount of experience from another forum, but would I still have to wait to finish my first newbie game here before I can /in or replace into another? In the OP it says that newer players must wait until their first game is completed, but I'm not really a new player, per se. Just on this site.

Yes, you still have to wait.

You can play non-newbies if you want, though.

Newbie #1236 (Day 2, 25 pages) is looking for a replacement for IH.
This is a Newbie slot; anyone who is not a newbie in their first game can replace in. Please don't contact me about this, I'm just the messenger--PM TheButtonmen if you are interested in taking this spot.

I see the above spot has already been filled into, so

/in for next

So, did I get this right: I can only sign up for one newbie game at a time, but I can go ahead and sign up for a non-newbie game along with the newbie game? I have some experience from other forums so I know the ropes, but I am pretty green.

Basically, if you're in your very first game onsite, you can play it in the Newbie queue or elsewhere on the site (but this is secretly the best queue), either from the start or replacing in, but if it's here, it must be your only game. Once you have one game completed, you will be able to play multiple games at once, but you can only be in one newbie game from the start at a time. (Once you have one completed game, you can replace into games
as well as
starting a game from the start, rather than doing one or the other.)

That's what I initially thought, but I got confused because the exchange between MormonCoffee and Amrun at the top of this page seems to indicate otherwise.

Ah? I thought that we were allowed to participate in other games simultaneously, so long as we saved the newbie slots in this queue for actual first time players. Did I misunderstand something too? Because I've already placed /in to at least two other non-newbie games.

Oh wait I totally misinterpreted CFJ's explanation. Ignore me.

As I remember it, the rules changed recently, and there's some confusion as to what they are now. It's probably best to wait for singersigner to turn up and clarify.

I need a replacement for zdesert in Newbie 1237. This is a Newbie slot, so anyone can take it. Day 1, 9 pages. Not a lot of reading. PM me if you want this slot!

Out of this here newbie queue, that is. Because I am now in that game I replaced into. Yeah.

/in to replace

(Since the rules say I can't /in for new games until I qualify as SE per the rules for Alts)

I apologize for the confusion. Recently we realized that the original wording was confusing and I had interpreted it differently than the way VRK had originally meant it to be taken. He changed it so it is more clear, and I have since then corrected myself and allowed Newbies to sign up for multiple queues, so long as they are only in the one Newbie game at that time. As soon as you've completed your first Newbie game, you may sign up for another and replace into as many as you'd like. All of this still applies to the game limits that qualify you as an SE after your second completed game on the site.

I hope that clears up some of the confusion. I'm hoping to change this around in the near future so that it is less confusing and more applicable to today's Newbies/players.

Hi, um, I've been waiting for like DAYS, and usually I'm a pretty patient guy, but my name isn't even up yet... Nor have I received any PM's concerning a game I'm in. I USED to be under the New Players list, but may name has disappeared. Can someone explain this to me?

Nevermind. I see my name in one of the games. I apologize. :)
