That's not necessarily true (yet not necessarily wring either), but the point is there are other types of investigative/informative roles. Let's say a Gunsmith. That does NOT return an alignment, but is still an investigative.
Some like to argue Trackers/Watchers..etc are "informative" not "investigative", so I'm not going there but they also return results (If there's a Ninja PT then there IS one of those. Yes?). Hell, add a LOYAL/DISLOYAL "anything" and it becomes an investigative role.

So my point still stands that a parity cop is kind of weak to be the "only" investigative/informative role in the game.

Anyway I dont think theres a lot of reason to assume we have any particular powers. Who's to say we dont have one parity cop and 4 town roleblockers?
