mith, did you just ditch all of the 'Mafia Player' roles in Group's Forum Permissions? That was what was supposed to be differentiating them from non-game forums...

Registered Users should have 'Mafia Player' role in game-forums, and 'Standard/Limited Access +/- Polls' in the others as appropriate. I don't want to get in there and start changing things again though if you're in there, we'll just get turned around again. I thought Limited was for News?

See coding forum. Nothing was set to Mafia Player when I investigated the post count problem today.

Was anyone around at 7:30 monday evening? I'd be curious to know how the site was performing.

So, somewhere someone requested that the "Full Editor" button in Quick Reply would also serve as a preview. If I understand correctly, this is simply changing where the link goes (Preview rather than Post Reply). If that could be done, it would be awesome.

Hey, can we get the links to the Wiki back in peoples' profiles? I always found that to be remarkably useful.

I'm hoping to get some of these wrapped up tonight, if they'll actually unshackle me from my desk at work, and uploaded before bed. Both of the last two things are on my short list, as are post numbers.

Will the number of views that a topic gets be making a return, or is there some way of figuring it out already that I just haven't noticed?

Incognito: It involves standing in a oil drum of frog guts while singing Ave Maria, but it does work.

Keep singing...

Hmm, Troll thought that Troll established that Troll no should force others to endure Troll's singing but if songs be what it takes to get the times threads have been viewed back Troll be willing to subject the rest of you to Troll's croonings.

Did anyone else get this when trying to access a forum a few minutes ago?

Parse error: syntax error in /usr/local/mafiascum/forum/viewforum.php on line 1

The web server was restarted a few minutes ago and that may have been why you received that error message.

I'll be uploading some changes (Flay sent them last night, but I needed some clarification on where something was supposed to go)... probably in about in the next half hour, so if you see anything weird it may be temporary as I upload files.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this or not but since the move/conversion games seem to be running smoother *knock on wood*

I'm modding a newbie that has required exactly 0 replacements well into day 1. Normally by now I would have had to replace at least 2 of them.

Hopefully it's because the board is running better now and not some random lucky coincidence.

That may or may not be true... the old board DID take a realllly long time to load some times. I'm *extremely* happy with the move so far.

hohum: We'll undoubtledly lose some people because of the downtime, but after that we should recover and run smoother than ever.

Which reminds me, I should do a new posting baseline...

Here's another wish to add to the list: Gender icons. Or even if the icons aren't easy to implement (although I think there's a MOD for it), adding a custom profile field in the ACP called "Gender" with a dropdown box with three options (Not Specified, Male, Female) takes about 20 seconds to add. It is quite useful to be honest when you're in a game with other people that you don't know.

We have the field already (data from the old forum), I just haven't gotten around to re-implementing it yet. Newer users of course will have it left blank.

I want to thank you (again) for everything you've done, and I know these things take time; I'm curious whether you have updated ETAs for these two things:

    Estimated completion: 6/21.

  • mafSepia, mafTigers
    - I know, I know, it's just lower priority than some of the other crisis items. There's also a few more icons in mafSilver to upload, but they're basically finished.
    Estimated completion: 6/24?
Thanks again for everything!

Eh. If I can get my own FTP working tonight (and maybe even if it doesn't), post numbers should be up, along with a few other small things.

I've outsourced Sepia & Tigers to my henchmen, but I'm going to do some work on it as well if all goes well.

Not sure it it's been mentioned, (I don't check in here often,) but are genders still viewable? I've not been able to see them anywhere in the settings.

No, it's something that will need to be added back in. It's easy enough to add custom fields, but I think it should be *fairly* straightforward to copy over the pre-conversion gender field to fill that in, both so everyone doesn't need to re-enter it manually, and so that we don't lose the genders for anyone who isn't active anymore/at the moment. So, that's why it hasn't already been done.
