Game I played with a Governor prevented any votes for a player during the day phase (or reduced all votes to 0), but allowed lynching of another player.

Thats not how I have ever seen it (not to say its used that way) The way I have seen (and as mod used) is that the Governor can pardon the lynch once a lynch is reached, but he only has a certain time (12-24hours) to inform the mod he does not want the lynch to happen. But his power can only be used in the twilight phase after the day has ended.. in my own experience this is.

The reason why we're doing it is acutally pretty obvious: we want to see what Rhinox does with the governor ability under pressure and his reaction to us voting him for it. In the absence of a real huge scumtell it's akin to an RVS vote.

Puh-lease. Pressure? We all know this vote is only there for his ability, which can only be used during twilight. He won't do anything untill he's got all the votes to get lynched so pressure means nothing. If he ends up lynched as anti-town he'll use it on himself rather than get lynched. If he's town he won't use it on himself and he'll leave us with no governor and a wasted day.

The only other scenario is where he's scum and leaves the governor for the backup scum, which is highly unlikely.

I'm happy with my vote where it stands.
