Considering that puts more pressure on him than RVS votes would, and he'd be putting himself into the position such that he'd likely be policy lynched... no, it's not smart scum play whatsoever.
I wouldn't be surprised to see strong negative-utility roles to balance out stronger positive-utility roles, particularly with a mechanic that is completely new and may have town roles to protect against it.
