Note: Don't try to imitate Rampage if you aren't at a point where you feel secure in your reads. The point isn't to put on a show. It's to recognize that the game is won with focus, confidence, and clarity. Think carefully about these ideas and figure out how they are best interfaced with your own personality and level of experience.

Sorry. I thought I made it clear. I strongly think Skelda is scum.
Then why aren't you voting for him?
Because I didn't want to make any accusations while being in the spotlight.
But, well, I don't care. VOTE: Skelda

Wait, what.

@Satan
Why do you strongly think that Skelda is scum? Seriously, I've re-read the thread, and I don't find anything really scummy on his posts...

See me have a seizure on stage, you ain't feelin well, hell

@Satan

@Ranawey
He made his accusation based in my behavior: I voted you and found bad excuse to quickly unvote you.
For me, that's a poor reason. Indeed, I see that as a way to cover up his vote.
Then, he seems preoccupied becaus he is not sure about me being scum. From my point of view, he could be scum just trying to appear sensible. Which is what scum is suposed to do.
And he keeps it. Saying that I am still super scummy, but showing that carefulness.
Somehow, I can't get to believe he is town.

@2Pac
I don't ignore you. It's impossible to ignore that sick rhymes of yours.
But I am not shipping you. I prefer to keep my vote on that damn scummy goat.

@2Pac
Well, read the links archaebob posted, the one who Rampage wrote is more important, and I think that you'll understand. It's my only reason to townread him. (Yeah, I meant townread, not towntell, heh).
I want to read more about Null before voting him.

PEdit:

@Satan
Well, implying he's town, he may have been carried with your behaviour and now that he's thinking more calm, he's not that sure about your scumminess. I think he didn't said anything about you being super scummy after showing carefulness.

UNVOTE

Voting and quick unvoting. I voted him because he voted me, and unvoted for the same reason.

Skelda, the point is to get scum lynched. You don't want to lynch a townie.

...or maybe you
do
?
Voting for someone we find scummy isn't getting carried away. And I know the point is to lynch scum, why should we assume you are town?

As for the rest of you, what are your reads so far?
@Ranawey As you see, if he got carried away, he tried to cover it up and seem reasonable.

Posted: Thu Sep 12, 2013 5:03 am

So if he is town, he got carried away, but kept pretending his acts had a logical base. Why would he do that...?

I need a lot more content from the SEs.

@ 2Pac -

Please use your natural voice. When you filter everything through a persona, it removes a lot of important information from your posts. Think about it this way: the mafia are playing a character because they have to. By adopting a character when you are town, you put yourself in the same psychological category as them. One of our biggest responsibilities as town is to
look like town
so that we don't distract discussion, and so that the other town players can use process of elimination to greater effect. Sincerity is important. Tone is everything. These are muddied by affected writing styles. Personally, I'm a huge fan of Pac and have found your posts entertaining, so don't take this the wrong way. However, in the long run the schtick is hurtful to the town, so if you're serious about winning please let it go. I will interpret continuation as deliberately anti-town and suspicious.

@ Ranawey -

Scum are caught because in certain situations town does one thing and scum does another. In your mind, what are these situations, what is the difference in behavior, and why?

by Ranawey
@archaebob

I'm not really sure how to answer that. May I have some time to think?

Posted: Thu Sep 12, 2013 5:21 am
by SatanHellYeah
@Ranawey

Let's see. Gave a reason for voting me. Well, that's normal, that's how it must be done. But, for me, that was a shitty reason in the first place.
The next thing was showing that insecurity about my scummy condition.
When I said everyone was getting carried away, he again refuted it, giving a reason. A nice one, or at least a reasonable one.
Then, after saying my reads were shitty(I won't deny it) he said I was still super scummy.

So, basically, he's acting in a way that no one could say he is doing it with no reason. Just as FuzzyLogic. But the second one is openly logic. Skelda is, for me, trying to fake a sensible town role without being explicit.

Think out loud. You will find it instructive. I'm pushing you towards a more sophisticated understanding of the game.

Let's start simpler. What are the differences between town and scum when the game starts? There are exactly two, and I want you to point them out.

Posted: Thu Sep 12, 2013 5:37 am
by Ranawey
Town wants to scumhunt and scum wants town to think they're scumhunting? I think that scum tries to make town's work harder.

Posted: Thu Sep 12, 2013 5:58 am
by SatanHellYeah
I think the difference is that scum knows who are the townies, but town has no clue.

Posted: Thu Sep 12, 2013 6:10 am
by Ranawey
Mhm, that also is true.

Maybe because scum has more information they tend to fill holes while 'scumhunting' easier than town?

Posted: Thu Sep 12, 2013 6:10 am
by Ranawey
Or holes town could never fill with certainty.

Think about this:

I will interpret you thinking this is not my natural voice as scum. Shtick that.
You think this ain't how I talk? Take a walk, taste some chalk,
the white line making an outline of your body mayne.

I need I need I need, you needy son.
Don't think your whining and "explaining" equates to being town son.

Null-scum for you bob,
Sheep me and maybe I'll change my mind.
Until then explain post ,
Where you hypocritically refuse to abide,
After demanding from my boy Satan a lengthy aside.
