mmk

is this because I called out Pasche for doing something he's done before as town, or is it because I haven't given any scum reads yet?

here's a quick summary of that game and why this is relevant btw:

in that game, Pasche opened by jumping on the initial couple of posts of a newer player. he proceeded to scum read people who challenged him on his read. In doing so, he had the entire town scum reading him and he would have likely been mislynch day 1 if one of the scum players didnt start dropping tells. Seeing him start this game by jumping on a player who can be considered somewhat of a new player then is more of worrying from a " please dont do this again Pasche kind of way, which is why I called him out on it

In terms of actual scum reads, the only thing that has caught my eye so far has been the flash wagon on Shiryu, which I happen to dislike. However, no player specifically stands out among the people who were on it atm.

Well, let's see... It got me votes from Majiffy, Marcrell, Thor (which you've changed) and Pasch.

Majiffy and Marcrell under the reasoning that it was a bad opening post, which from how you say RVS goes down, would really just make them both random votes against me.

Yours you claimed was to follow suit, which I suppose in its own way would still be a random vote?

Pasch jumps out with the actual analysis that I'd use it to distance myself from it if Majiffy actually ends up getting lynched, though Why Not did say Pasch tends to over-theorize. On the other hand, it was a 4th vote, which would get me close to the actual possibility of getting lynched.

So yeah, I suppose slightly scummy vibes from Pasch, but nothing I'd go on to place a vote him.

Seeing as things seem to be shifting towards more serious gameplay now, I'll gladly

UNVOTE: Majiffy

Fair enough. I hardly expect us to lynch this early. Nor do I plan to weigh this very heavily once I have better information. But I don't think it's ever too early to start scumhunting.

Thor665 wrote:You appear to be answering "have you committed the tell you are accusing him of"
What I was asking was "have you used the tell you are citing (pointing out pointlessness of RVS vote) as a tell to call someone scummy and vote them in a game before"?

I misunderstood. Sure I have. I find that scum are more often thinking about how their votes will be perceived in the future. I certainly think about that as scum. As town I just try to vote for the right people. Isn't that how you do it?

Why not wrote:how sure are you

Not random, then? Alright, so on the first post you state you voted for me on account of my post being bad. On your follow up explanation you say this is both because of me specifically pointing out both my lack of present meta knowledge as well as the how the reason for the vote was an obvious joke.

I honestly don't see how going overly-jokey would be a scum tell. I'll concede the first point though. I can asure you, I just wanted to point that out in case I make any other faux pas plays like that very first vote, and don't plan on using it as a crutch (so hopefully this'll be the last I'll bring it up) as some ploy to try to make myself look less threatening/innocent.

Marcrell, was this your reasoning as well?

For coming out and trying to direct the town, Thor's voting has been pretty damn spastic if you take a look at it. Hopping from one person to another just willy nilly. Happy with my thor vote. Probably going to stay where it for a while.

Thor665 wrote:I'm also serious with that vote - in case anyone was wondering.

Naturally, just like the other, what 4 votes you have had in the same number of pages...
Dr Pants wrote:here's a quick summary of that game and why this is relevant btw:

Litterally give zero shits about stupid meta on page 4 not reading. This is a good opportunity for me to give all of you a heads up that any post about meta will be ignored by yours truly. I'm getting sick of the current site meta that revolves around meta-gaming. I don't want to go on my anti-meta tirade but just letting you all know.

He literally has no point with his vote at the moment. His strategy is to look like a town leader and jump on someone and run up a wagon. Then he will build a case and everyone else will sheep him.

The former - you're functionally soft selling him as scum for something you've seen him do as town. That's scummy.

I feel like what you quoted should pretty much make the case for me. Let's just go this way "has anything that Pants said sounded like he wanted Pasch to think about what he was doing?"

Because Pants is now claiming that was his motivation.

CooLDoG wrote:He literally has no point with his vote at the moment. His strategy is to look like a town leader and jump on someone and run up a wagon. Then he will build a case and everyone else will sheep him.

Yup, my strategy is to look like a town leader by...doing what a town leader does.

I voted in Pasche RVS, before he voted for Shiryu. When he voted Shiryu, I didn't like it. I did not like that he needed to interject his own 2 cents about why voting Shiryu was a good idea. So I called him out on it. He responded by saying

So, uh,
in post 61 or so you announced that you disliked Pasche's vote and explanation thereof
and everything about the context and content of your post indicated that this meant you found his post relatively scummy
at what point did you decide that this was not really scummy at all and thereby become neutral about everyone?

because you seem to be claiming, at least implicitly, that your vote's place on Pasche has been arbitrary for a long time
almost...from the start?

but that doesn't seem to fit with what you said;
before this page, any reasonable person reading this thread would assume that you were still voting pash because of what you said in 61

after Pasche's 63

as I said above, it was that particular post that made this scenario match the previous game. Its because Pasche admittedly took the vote 100% seriously and believes himself to be correct.

my vote's still on Pasche because I don't have a better place for it right now. Like I said to Thor, this meta thing is not enough to constitute a strong read, its only a piece of evidence. I mentioned it because it seemed relevant, and I keep mentioning it because Thor's case against me is built upon it.
