Either your vote was random, or you voted for him because he voted for himself. You can't have it both ways. It looks like you're trying to set yourself up to look good when he dies... you can say "I only voted randomly" if he comes up town, or "I knew voting for himself was a scumtell" if he comes up scum. Pick a reason for your vote and stick with it.eldarad wrote:Well yeah, but mine was a random vote, whereas you voted for a specific reason - and your vote seems serious enough, even if the reason is lousy.Peers wrote:And, honestly? On the first day, if I had said "Well, if we're voting randomly, then I'll vote for X because he voted for himself"... I wouldn't talk about other people not having valid reasons for voting.

Because I think they are all 'random' votes, since we began the first day and we have nothing to go on from the night message because nothing happened.
Yeah yeah. Except that I never made any attempt to force the issue...because I don't think it matters either way.Peers wrote:It looks like you're trying to set yourself up to look good when he dies... you can say "I only voted randomly" if he comes up town, or "I knew voting for himself was a scumtell" if he comes up scum. Even so, if he is eventually lynched then it seems doubtful I will be able to rely on my initial random vote as any kind of defence or vindication.
In any case, the only person voting for edion at the moment is himself so it hardly seems relevant.
If you give a reason for your vote, it's not really random. Voting for someone for voting for themself is a perfectly valid strategy. So is voting for someone who does that. Some people think the first is a scumtell; some people think the second is. Neither of these votes said "random vote" or "Vote: X, just for the heck of it." They gave reasons. They may not be thought out or seem logical, but they were reasons nonetheless.eldarad wrote:So...you're saying that each of these votes are serious, carefully considered votes based on thought and reasoning?
You may have gotten nothing. I may have gotten nothing. But someone got something. And if they flat-out tell us they got something, then they'll be killed by the scum. But if they find a way to tell us and be subtle... like, say, giving a reason for a vote... then it's something everyone should be looking for and ready to consider acting on. Perhaps kabenoon007 or KradDrol are cops and got a guilty result on the person they voted for... how would you know if they did or not?eldarad wrote:Because I think they are all 'random' votes, since we began the first day and we have nothing to go on from the night message because nothing happened.

I'm also not too happy with Peers. Reading back over the thread:
Note: this would be the third vote on Peers if I voted, and with Zeek away for now, I don't want to place another. When Zeek returns I will probably upgrade it to a vote.
Peers wrote:Sadly, this is probably our best option; everyone has an equal chance of being scum right now, and removing one of them would prevent ryan/junk confusion in the future. On the other hand, it's a really crappy reason for a lynch.KradDrol wrote:or we could lynch one of the ryans right away to prevent confusion...
Peers wrote:Guys, we had a night phase. There's no reason to be random voting.
If placing a vote simply based on two characters having similar names is reason enough not to be a random vote, I don't think I like your style of voting! Their names are in no way relavant to whether either of them is scum or not, and trying to justify your vote more than any other random vote doesn't sit well with me. Peers, you've been now in the midst of two town quarrels now. At the very least your actions aren't helping this town.Peers wrote:If you give a reason for your vote, it's not really random. As I said before: One of them claimed the other 'stole' his name and that he had it first. The other proved that he, in fact, had the name first. This makes the first person a liar. The 'name thing' is just the symptom; the true reason for the vote is the lie.Medicated Lain wrote: If placing a vote simply based on two characters having similar names is reason enough not to be a random vote, I don't think I like your style of voting!

unvote, vote: Peers
His opinion does not sway mine in any way. I just don't like the idea of voting for someone when there's people voting who are away(unless it's near a deadline). I don't know who is scum in this game, and I don't want people to randomly jump on a bandwagon and end the day fast, which with someone away voting for someone, and two more people jumping on to that, I don't know that Eldarad isn't scum, and I don't know that Zeek isn't either, but I also don't know that they are. Imagine that none of the three of us are scum, and that two people were voting with actual reason(more than I feel anyone else in this game). I've been in mini games with as many as 4 anti town players(3 mafia, and a serial killer), I wanted to hear what Zeek had to say before adding another vote, because this was his original vote:
There's absolutely no reason given(granted it's after the entire arguement between Peers and Ryan), while it was doubtful to be random, wouldn't it suck if maybe another person decided to agree, and then the scum decided "this person has alot of claims against them, I can just finish them off without looking suspicious at all."ZeekLTK wrote:vote: Peers
*I'm going to be in Orlando for the MSU-BC game for a couple days so I won't be able to post again until the 31st or so.
One more thing, thinking about the game I was in with 4 anti town players, well we know there's atleast one killing group, but beyond that, it is indeed possible that someone was roleblocked... I still feel doubtful that k would be a killing role.. but if there was a role blocked, and the k did have something to do with that.. well I can see your thoughts a little more clearly now Skitzer. I was thinking before that we probably had only one mafia group, and since someone was dead, it didn't feel right to be looking for a blocked role that was protown.

It was actually before the argument... it was pretty much the 4th post of the game (ryan's vote being 1st, etc.)Medicated Lain wrote:I wanted to hear what Zeek had to say before adding another vote, because this was his original vote:

Since his post in this game, he's only made one other post, on Dec. 29th, to his other game. It's possible he went V/LA and didn't tell anyone.skitzer wrote:OK, I believe edion hasn't replied to my little K experiment, and he's been a bit lurky (only posting once). But take note that Peers did not start either of the arguments he was in. That's rather like saying "You've been mugged twice this week? Well, you must be involved in something that makes you a target..."
Which, granted, I _could_ be a know drug dealer and I'm targeted for mugging because I've got cash and dope on me... but, y'know, odds are that I'm not.
