Probably should just point out for transparency's sake...I tend to play differently in the Newbie queue (though it's been two years) than I do outside of the Newbie queue. For example, you won't see my typical GIF responses. Take that as you will (also Alisae v Pine is not a good game to get my scumgame from since my play was heavily coached by Pine).

Normally I try to prioritize reading Newbie games over others for meta-reads on SEs. Given that you're the listmod and post in literally every Newbie game ... yeah, no, not happening.

I had noted the lack of GIFs in this game compared to your others, but didn't consider it to be alignment indicative. I'd figured it had something to do with all the wrist slaps for unspoilered GIFs in 898.

I can easily believe that Alisae v Pine isn't indicative - I had at least two other reasons as well to put an asterisk on the quality of that comparison (size of the game, you mentioned IRL issues impacting your play). But I'm glad you mentioned that regardless.

Hello! I was actually referring to the other Mason; last game I was actively trying to avoid picking a fight with you. You were too townie, and I can't duplicate that shine as scum easily (at all?)

Obvious question: why's Cheeky scum? I've seen a couple of "huh?" moments, but nothing scummy.

I don't think this is a reliable tell until the player has at least posted. It cam be seen as scummy to vote inactive players early game as it takes away any possible confrontation a scum player may encounter by voting an active player.

What do you think about Phoenix defendong then unvoting you and moving onto a player who has yet to post?

Still don't think it's SvS, at the least. Still haven't seen anything worrying about Ph0enix's answers. So call it unchanged for now, with the caveat that I'm still evaluating Gyro.

Gyro: Ph0enix did vote chaz, yes. So points for self-consistency - you thought Penguin was scummy for putting a bunch of pressure on someone, and then didn't want to do it yourself.

Problem is: if you look at the mod notes, Nomanssky hasn't checked in as of Plotinus's last VC. chazary has. Why would you expect to get reactions from someone who hasn't checked in yet?

I'm not sure if this is scum behavior, either that or he's really eager to vote. It's also odd that he is totally certain that Cheeky is scum when he hasn't done anything to indicate that. Remember this is his first post and he's certain someone is scum and votes him. I'm voting for him until he explains.

If Gyro's motives for voting Nomanssky were to apply pressure and/or perform a reaction test, I'd expect a different reaction to realizing that Nomanssky hadn't checked in. Voting elsewhere; unvoting; challenging my premises if he thought my logic was flawed. Not just acknowledging, leaving the vote in place, and saying nothing else.

Even if Nomanssky had checked in, I'd still find prioritizing lurker pressure over scumread pressure questionable, given the scumread in post 59 that Cheeky pointed out.
