Well, let's get it started then.Lawrencelot wrote:This game is going slow. I don't even remember my role...
Are you pretending not to remember your role so that we will be more likely to think you are part of the collective something? Scum would remember, so just casually tossing it out there that you don't remember your role PM might make one think you are more likely to be town.
Maybe it's genuine. But maybe it's not.

because he seems to know specifically what his restrictions are (even though he appears unable to express them), yet I can't imagine how his role PM could express such rules in the vague language everything else is in."Time forks endlessly toward innumerable futures. To be honest, when I reach a certain threshold, all my games blur together and I forget WHAT I'm supposed to be in some of them til I check again. However, I do agree that Lawrence could actually have checked his role rather than non contributed like that.

, I'd like to see MafiaMann come back so I'll keep my vote on him."Never have I seen anybody glorify their own lynch."

TTGL Mafia is over. Going to mod Umineko No Naku Koro Ni Mafia. Pre-/ins, as always, are accepted.

Just telling the truth. I do remember it now btw, even without checking my pm. If I'm town, not remembering my role doesn't hurt town because I'll just find scum like everybody else. If I'm scum, pretending that I don't remember my scum doesn't hurt town more than if I was scum that does not pretend to forget his role, because I'll just (pretend to) find scum like everybody else. If I'm scum, really forgetting my role obviously doesn't hurt town.RestFermata wrote:Well, let's get it started then.Lawrencelot wrote:This game is going slow. I don't even remember my role...

I often have that problem is well. Now I'm not in too many games, but this game only recently started and not much happened. To be honest, when I reach a certain threshold, all my games blur together and I forget WHAT I'm supposed to be in some of them til I check again
Yes, I could have checked my role. But I don't see how that would've mattered. I also don't see how this is not contributing. However, I do agree that Lawrence could actually have checked his role rather than non contributed like that
Leaving mafiascum temporarily or not due to circumstances
Not checking your role to avoid being readable day 1 is super-lame and defeats the purpose of the game. Some people consider it cheating.
I know you said you remembered your role, but it does matter.
Maybe forgetting your role doesn't hurt the town, but it hurts the game.

If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles.

. I still dislike that because just posting to say that feels too much like disguising an I'm here post.I was under the impression he forgot both, but I could be wrong.Sun Tzu, as long as someone remembers their alignment, I don't see where forgetting their role hurts. As long as they remember it at night (assuming they have night actions) or when someone claims their role, it's fine.

As the post said, I made a bad assumption about how many votes MafiaMann had because I rushed and counted the bolded Something: MafiaMann as votes (doesn't help that there are no official vote counts). I went back to check, and found that he was on L3 unlike I had thought. I therefore removed my vote since because putting someone on L3 without a motive is not as scummy as putting them at L1. I guess he (Sun Tzu) still deserves an FOS but I didn't think of that at the time.Firestarter wrote:WHAT????Scattered wrote:Actually, scratch that,Unvote
For some reason I thought Sun Tzu's vote put MafiaMann on L1, when it is actually L3.
Comprende?

Agreed. Especially as Lawrencelot never actually said that he hadn't read his role pm, just that he couldnt remember his role. Just reread, and this stood out as lying scum.MafiaMann wrote:somthing like that and somthing elseLawrencelot wrote:You mean you can't vote?
MafiaMann states at first that he doesn't know his restrictions and refers to them as something.
When questioned, he then reveals that it is that he cannot vote (something he surely would have known at his previous post as he doesn't try to vote in between). It also doesn't make sense that he would withhold his restriction and then suddenly tell us when questioned and under no pressure. Since that post, he has been inactive which could well be lurking.
Lastly, I'm not sure about others but my role pm (which may or may not be the vanilla one, I'm not breadcrumbing here) didn't specify on any details, it just had something instead of all verbs and nouns. It seems strange to me that MafiaMann's would have specified that he couldn't vote clearly (as he wouldn't have known he can't otherwise since he hasn't attempted a vote in game.)

, L2, don't lynch unless he has a chance to explain himself. However if he doesn't answer fairly swiftly, this might be a good lynch for today. (On a related point, is the game no reveal?)- RestFermata

If MafiaMann doesn't talk, he'll be replaced eventually. It's conversation this game needs. There has been some conversation. If you want more, engage in it. What do you want MafiaMann to do, claim on page 4? I'm also suspicious of him, but I think it'll be to our advantage if we let him be replaced first. If we want replacements to be made, we will have to start discussion so there will be a difference between inactive and active players.
Bringing him to L-1 at this point bothers me. I feel that it's too soon, and too risky.
You're just holding the door wide open for a scum/idiot town quickhammer. Anti-freaking town.
