I'm too lazy to type up my inspiration, so here's a copy from scumchat.

jhawk01B: I have a really good idea
jhawk01B: make two games, like in dichotomafia
jhawk01B: half the players are in one tribe
jhawk01B: half in another
jhawk01B: in one game
jhawk01B: one tribe has the majority
jhawk01B: in the other game
jhawk01B: the other tribe has majority
jhawk01B: and everyone knows who the people from their tribe in the other game is
jhawk01B: and whenever a lynch is reached
jhawk01B: whichever tribe that person was from
jhawk01B: everyone in that tribe from the game votes someone out from their own tribe in the other game
jhawk01B: privately, of course
jhawk01B: or you don't even have to do a majority, minority thing
jhawk01B: make them even in both games
jhawk01B: sorta like I bet civil war mafia was close to even
jhawk01B: anyways
jhawk01B: I'm claiming that concept :P

Here's an idea: 14-18 players to begin with.

These players play for a set number of days. Then, I replace every single person in the game. It would be something like "Unfinished Manuscript Mafia". The first part would be ancient writers, the second part would be people finishing up the papers, with the same role mechanics, and just a modified name only.

I do around 14, as you will need to find 14 different players, which isn't too easy.

Dude I had claimed this a while ago in chat (never officially) but I am running it as a mini, and They will probably be sufficiently different enough that they will be fine with multiple games.

Kind of, there's a GL game based on We didn't start the Fire I think, and it has communists as scum.

ah, but this is communists versus capitalists. am i allowed to use it?

Sure, W/e, people can use the same claims. But I can give you the link if you want to see it for ideas, (but it still is going on, but there are one or two roles I really liked).

Here's an idea that just came to mind:
mountaineering mafia

The game consists of 12 players.

1. Every player has a posting restriction:

No more postings than double the number of players for each player are allowed each day, excess will result in a modkill. To indicate the number of postings, everyone has to keep track, and write a number in front of his/ her postings.
e. g. with 11 players on day one, 22 postings are allowed.

2 . With each posting, a vote's value increases, until it will be 100% (or points?) at the maximum allowed number of votes (=number of playersx2).

3. Every player, who has reached 100% can
once
'help' a fellow player by instantly giving him a 100% value by typing
help: <playername>
. That player can still post until the maximum of postings is reached.

4. A lynch will be deceided at simple majority. Remember that townies can help each other, the helped one can help others in turn to give their votes a value of 100%. Still thinking about this, maybe it will go down to 35%.

5. Roles are basic and cops will be normal. This will be stated at the beginning of the game in order not to waste space discussing these matters.

In my opinion this setup might make for valuable postings, prevents stalling and still motivates everyone to participate.
What do you think? 8)

I should add that the idea is that players will strive to gain as much 'value' for their vote while still trying to make 'worthy' postings.

Balancing between the greed for a full vote and the inability to discuss anymore once you have it, is the challenge in this setup.

Also it should make for some thrilling mafia plays, when everyone suspect the other to help the wrong guy in order to dominate the lynch.

Besides, I just found the edit-button. I am not used to do this on this board.

Last edit:
I'm thinking of trying this out, maybe tweak it a bit first.

I'm thinking of creating a Deathwatch Theme. Of course, after I'm done with all the others. :)

If this isn't taken(doubt it) Id like to claim a theme game based upon The New England Patriots American Football team. Still not sure if it really needs to be a theme only the roles are themed currently. Otherwise its a normal in terms of rules. I've been trying to comeup with a game mechanic involving the rules of american football but no inspiration has struck as of yet. I'll keep y'all posted on it. Just kinda wanted to gauge reaction to the idea.

I'd really like a Mental Hospital Mafia...

Patients pitted against Psychiatrists - why not?

Orderlies and Nurses on one side or the other...
Patient's families...

Mind-altering medications can be administered...

I can see many posting restrictions, none indicative of being a patient or a doctor!

Inability to post anything but emoticons, and cast votes...
Paranoia (FOS in every post?)...
Manic-depression (posts every second day?)...
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (must include a specific word in every post?)...
God-complex
Hearing voices (every sentence ends with a question mark?)
Multiple-personalities
An Evil Doctor conducting unethical experiments (kinda like the serial killer, eh?)
A masochist (acting cummy on purpose)

The possibilities are endless.

Mith did one of these pre-crash, it was called Padded Wall Mafia. I don't believe we ever finished it though.

One *could* say that.
There are currently two Abnormal (Psych) mafias in development.
One is regular. Another is blind. Might run later this summer.

Now that Worst Role Evar is complete, I'm gearing up to mod another game. I have several ideas in mind, but I'd be interested to know what people would want to participate in. Please PM me rather than cluttering this forum with your responses. The ideas I have in mind:

An NYPD-style game (everyone who isn't scum is a cop of some sanity) with two new additions to the set of four sanities {sane, insane, paranoid, naive}, taken from Worst Role Evar. Bipolar A cop gets accurate results on odd nights and inaccurate results on even nights. Bipolar B cop gets inaccurate results on odd nights and accurate results on even nights. These are both useful cops, but their presence complicates the process of narrowing down sanity possibilities.
With a standard template setup, this is basically ready to go. I just need to get some feedback from somebody about what they think the relative numbers should look like in a game like this.

A standard themed game similar to Phoebus's Roald Dahl Mafia, but with a different author. Who? Well, that would be telling. I promise that it's someone that most (and probably all) of you are familiar with.
This is in the early stages of development, but doesn't require a whole lot of extra work beyond fleshing out the setup and writing.

Another experimental Mini.
I've had an idea for this since my first modding experience, but the last time I sat down to try to work it out, the pieces didn't fit together. I'm hopeful that the experience I've gained since then will make it an easier process, but there's the possibility that this particular idea simply can't work. Of course, if it doesn't, I can always come up with something else to try.

Trifia II.
In addition to having to create a setup and make sure that it's sufficiently different from the original to remain interesting, I'd also have to put together the trivia format and questions for the game, which tends to take more time than the setup development but less than the writing. Even still, this is the one that would require the most time to get running.

Keep in mind that while I may run all of these at some point, I have no intention of running more than one at a time. That way lies madness. And also that I may be starting a new job in a few months, after which I will probably be scaling back my mafia participation some.

I am claiming
Chuck Norris mafia

An insane game based around well-known facts of Chuck Norris.
