Xtomx - I don't know if you have access to SL's quicktopic or PMs to your former partner, but she was a traitor and you're confirmed town. You can get a sketchy outline of what she said to your replacee at the end (twilight) of D2.
AFC and DJ are cross-voting. I'm not confirmed vanilla, but neither of the other two suspect me more than each other. If you concur after reading the thread and agree it's between AFC and DJ, then we have to work out who to lynch together.
Other than that, I can't think of anything in particular you need to know, just get re-reading, I suppose.

mainly that it seemed like a jump at townie points. the issue for me was him going from me as his #1 suspect, to attempting to hammer duck, then accusingSerialClergyman wrote:
Of what you post above, could you expand a little on what you feel the significance of AFC's possible hammer was?

Before I go to bed (3:30am now - I work at a TV station so I work odd hours),
AFC - can you explain why DJ was your top suspect on D3? When I asked you to state your case against him you said his D3 actions were scummy, but that doesn't explain why he was your top suspect at the start of D3.

Could each of you detail how you believe the Mafia Traitor role works. Thanks.

Essentially - no.
We've been discussing through the thread exactly what it does. A traitor is generally niot known by the mafia and cannot communicate with the mafia, but has the mafia's win condition.
So I originally took this to mean that SL knew who the mafia were and could not communicate with them, but had their win condition and was also a mason with TC.
I waivered in this viewpoint after the massclaim, because I thought due to balance issues there was probably only 1 mafia left and it'd be pretty harsh to have just 1 mafia who didn't know who she was. But after we killed duckduck, we know there's 2 mafia and 1 mafia traitor, so coupled with the SK and miller and few power roles for town, I think we can be confident the scum didn't know who she was.

OK. I've done my rereading and gone over and over it until I'm practically crazy. I think it's fitting that the confirmed townie doesn't vote before I do, so that puts the burden on myself to come up with a decision.
I'm going to
Ugh.
I've honestly gone around and around since duck was killed.
If you're town, DJ, your sloppy cases are a major problem. Your main attacks were on Spring and were a bit of a tangent, with one poorly reasoned case against Rai. Your reason for your attack on duckduck was terrible (buddying), and almost got you voted. I didn't sense that you had any effort in finding scum or any urgency, and against a more active, scumhunting opponent I might have well voted you.
If you're town AFC, your lurking really hurt you. Your playstyle changed dramatically, which can be explained by having seen that there was a vig/SK. Your appeal to TC's authority and contradictions of earlier are problematic, as are your vig directions (you chose 1 specific lurker, not the other confirmed scum lurker.) You also haven't scumhunted with any urgency at all, apart from throwing up pretty shallow and generic criticisms of people in D1.
So all in all, I'm going to have to go with the AFC vote. It's odd - I feel like I don't want you to get one up on me DJ. That's a big ego thing by me, and I think there's a temptation to vote you just because you couldn't win. I have no idea where that's coming from, and it's not at all a good way to make a decision, so possibly part of my epic re-reading was to combat that feeling. It also feeds into the idea thati f you're both pretty scummy, I should vote for you because I think you could hide it better. But all of that is relatively illogical, and i'm going to push for the triumph of the head over the gut. If you win cos I got this wrong, congrats.
I'm going to

And what is extremely scummy about this is that you waited until the wagon completely died before you agreed that is how i have played in the past as town. IMO, Obv. scum waiting to see if they could get the mislynch, but when they didn't they tried to appear townie and helpful and say yeah its true.DJ wrote:but seriously(apologies in advance for stream of consciousness posting here): have you read afat in iso at all? what confuses me is that he not only defends me day 1, but he also asks for me to confirm his meta.

And sadly, if i get lynched and town loses, its not going to hurt my feelings much. The only part that will hurt my feelings is losing to DJ (No offense) Its just that it is easy as possible to get him lynched as town, so losing to him as scum is pretty poor play. Oh well guess we wait on Xtoxm thoughts.SerialClergyman wrote:OK. I've done my rereading and gone over and over it until I'm practically crazy. SC can you explain how the lurking was a scum tell? I was in three games at the time, got lynched for the "Lurking" in the other two games, and was vanilla in both games. So can you explain to me how it is exactly scummy?

Because there's so little to go on, so I'm going to to my roots - genuine scumhunting. I'm not voting you for lurking, I'm voting you because you've shown no effort in scumhunting. When was the last time you put forward a decent sized post with quotes or evidence? It just doesn't ring as a townie.
I'm old now.
I agree i haven't. If i had actually cared enough i could probably have convinced everyone that DJ is the last scum. As it stands i don't remember enough about the first half of the game to even try it.SerialClergyman wrote:Because there's so little to go on, so I'm going to to my roots - genuine scumhunting. Well, if you're town, expect massive anger from me and anyone else who depended on you to at least try to fulfil your win condition. I actually did care about the game and the team I was playing on and genuinely did struggle to come to a decision after a lot of effort and thinking. Toss bills and FA in that mix too for self-hammering.
I'm old now.
SC, rescind your vote. I don't want anyone having the opportunity to self hammer. Your stance is noted.

xtox: i understand the traitor role to be a town role with mafia win condition. this is my first game with one so i am unsure of whether or not the traitor would be in contact with mafia. that has been a point of discussion. your predecessor aired suspicions of spring for setting up a quicktopic thread which he thought was so that mafia could monitor their night conversation. i have been mason once and can honestly say the QT thread(setup by the mod) had all of four posts in it(we survived to day3, then nk'd one after the other). the power of masons is not in night talking, but moreso in their ability to confirm each other, so actually reading the qt may have been helpful for you to determine the validity of tcorp's suspicions.
i don't remember there being a "wagon" on you.afat wrote:And what is extremely scummy about this is that you waited until the wagon completely died before you agreed that is how i have played in the past as town. i like the imagery.
xtox: i don't think there is danger of a self hammer. afat isn't scum with me, can't be scum with you, and can't be scum with SC as i pointed out yesterday. final scum is either SC or afat(AFC). if there were two scum, game would already be over, no?
regardless:

I have no doubts that there is a sole remaining mafiate. It is a townie self hammer that I fear.

I would call it a wagon. I was tied for the most votes, and most all the discussion was on me, and you waited until it all died down before you said anything.
