Which is KIND of understandable however when its "We're testing it and if you're unlynchable you're not town" its a bit different.

I think that if Umbrage were unlynchable town or scum, he would vote for himself. I guess this issue has to be resolved before we can discuss anything else, but if he gets lynched, discussion will end.

I'm on page 29 of my first non-skim read, and this is a vapid post to ensure I don't get replaced. I wouldn't want some poor sap to have to relive those 29 pages--I'm certain you'll all concur.

Ok, so Umbrage has posted this about his role:
Umbrage wrote:I am confirmed town, because
town cannot kill me
without vig mumbo-jumbo.

Umbrage wrote:what's the worst that could happen? You lynch me?
Scum kill me? Uh-uh. I'm going to attract Docs and JKs like crazy. And even if I don't, scum won't chance the WIFOM.
Face it, I'm going to be around for a long long time and there's nothing you can do about it.

I think the less I claim about my role the better.
I've got nothing to gain.

Think about it, guys. If I'm Survivor,
I want to get rid of the mafia because they're the only ones that can kill me.
If I'm SK, ditto. You can trust me, you have to trust me.

This really, really does not read like posts made by a player with town teammates. "I've got nothing to gain" and "they're the only ones that can kill me" are blatant third-party statements, or less likely, a scumbag with mild lynch protection bluffing.

There is absolutely no harm in running Umbrage up to the full number of votes. (Besides it taking a day or two of game time.) If he is telling the truth about being an unlynchable townie, it will do nothing. If he's an L+X scum/SK/Survivor, he dies. If he's an SK/Survivor with some lynch protection and some NK protection, we learn that one day of running him up causes no problems, and we should do the same thing tomorrow--run him up to the full number of votes right away. I doubt any 3rd party role or scum would be given two full lynch protections--that would be viciously overpowered in endgame.

Let's run the guy up to full votes today and tomorrow, and otherwise let scum/vig/SK take care of him.

DGB isn't confirmed town by the egg thing unless the setup is shittily balanced. Envision a setup where all townies are either roled (doublevoter etc) or goofy-roled (omelet-passer) and scum are just scum with scum-useful roles like roleblocker. It'd be way too easy to sniff out the bad guys in that setup. "Dave Counter? Yeah, he's town. Egg passer? Yeah she's town. Roleblocker? Let's axe him." We're aware of two goofy roles (one or more could be useful, I suppose, but they look just plain goofy.) You've gotta figure some scum will have goofy roles, so don't jump to the conclusion that role=town.

VP Baltar
doesn't sound quite the same as he did when he was town with me in another game. IGMEOY.

scooby
got run up to L-1 and picked Lucronis out as the scum on his wagon, called him scum later, and then didn't include Lucronis in his top six scum suspects to start D2. Does not compute. @scooby, 6 of your initial list of 7 suspects were people voting you, and the 7th was pops, who was town. That's not really scumhunting, that's OMGUS.

Porochaz
sounds more like he did in my town game with him than when we caught him as scum.

Same with
Amrun
. She's on her toes, rather than on her heels like she was in her scumgame. She might be a super-prodigy capable of improving correcting her mistakes that quickly, but I'll go with the more likely thought that she's town.

Gurgi
's main contribution seems to be "DGB and EK look like they might be scum together" which IS had already abandoned by the time Gurgi posted to proxy-suck-up to IS. 1) No way Gurgi and IS are scum together, 2) Gurgi looks lazybad, even lazier than he was in the game we were in together when he was the final scum.

I don't know how to read
Tripod
. I have no idea what a town Tripod would look like, and scum Tripod looked just like this for the brief time it was around. Not looking forward to reading town-Tripod-games, but considering I missed two weeks of the game, I suppose I can suck it up and quit being a pussy.

@EK
, who is a scumbag that you have identified as a scumbag for reasons unrelated to their interactions with you? I understand your IS focus and your Umbrage focus--they fucked with you in ways you found sketchy. Give me a few more, please, but preferably for reasons other than "they fucked with EK and lost".

Lucronis
reads farside as town way too fast, and strikes out with an early inconsistency:
Lucronis wrote:I think umbrage has a
good read on scooby
and am tempted to vote.
...
Not a fan of Lord G's jumping on the scooby "wagon"
either, seems to me like an attempt to get attention on someone other than himself.

and this gave me the heebie-jeebies for total lack of sincerity:
Lucronis wrote:My vote is staying on gurgi as i feel IS's case is wrong not necessarily scummy.

Lucronis wrote:Still prefer gurgi but we can get his partner first

I do have to say, suspecting Gurgi is not a bad thing, but the circuitous route Lucronis has taken, plus a few of these niggling inconsistencies, don't sit well with me.

@Spyrex
, please make an explicit case on DGB. Thus far, I'm not buying what you're selling.

DGB
and scooby both pointed out the Umbrage-Kison link in order to drive home the idea that Umbrage was a likely Kison nightkiller. DGB defended scooby, and scooby found DGB scummy until the egg business, at which point he was "willing to give her a pass". Unusual convergences noted--could be coincidence, but pinged the radar.
@DGB
, what exactly moved scooby from your scum category into your certain town category?

@vollkan
, is IS really your #1 suspect? If so, please make a more explicit, thorough case. If not, who's your top suspect and why?

Going to finish this tomorrow, hopefully. Girlfriend deserves a few minutes of my Sunday night!

"One time this kid at school, Billy McCyntire age 10, tried to wash clean his hair with a vacuum. And it worked, he didn't have to take a bath anymore, because it was one of those wet/dry vacuums. But we all noticed he was
slowly getting dumber
. At first we thought he might be sucking his brain through the vacuum, but actually he was just watching too much television. The TV was sending stupid rays into his brain through his
eye sockets
. It's true, he started wearing sun glasses inside, and the stupid went away. But now he's just kind of a douche.

What's that? You want to lynch Umbrage? Oh all right I guess so."

Umbrage doesn't quite agree, and tries to get up and run frantically screaming "You can't lynch me, do you know who I am?!" But with 2/3rds of the town all grabbing for him, they box him in and force his head to the table. Gavin raises his axe and swiftly brings it down onto Umbrage's neck. You hear a loud "TING" and the axe goes through about halfway. Blood begins spewing out of his neck while his arms and legs flail about.

"Oh shoot. My axe has been damaged." Luckily there was a traveling axe sharpener in the audience. With the freshly sharpened blade, the axe goes through Umbrage's neck like butter. Gavin throws the head onto the scale. "Wow that's light only 6.5 pounds, must be the metal alloy." As the blood rushes out of his decapitated body, you notice it bubbling and steaming as it hits he table. "That can't be good blood" Gavin says. "He must be one of the bad guys."

Instead of the usual pocket searching you decide to disembowel Umbrage first because he was annoying the lot of you. You noticed in his stomach a bunch of human fingers and toes.

Umbrage was the Inexperienced Cannibal, Lynch Resistant Goon and member of the
DFSB
.

"Did you know that every time you blink your eyelids spread a little bit of tear across your eyeball. You have to do that or your eyes will dry up like a prune. It's true. I tried not blinking once and I couldn't do it. I won a staring contest at 23 minutes and 15.4 seconds. But I blinked. The only way not to blink is to
cut off your eyelids
. That actually happened to my grandpa. He was slicing onions and rubbing his eyes to fight back the tears. The poor old coot got everything mixed up and started rubbing the onions and slicing his eyelids." The story pauses for a bout of laughter. "When everything was said and done he had a pile of smashed onions and
finely julienned eyelids
. So he had to keep his eyes moist or else they'd dry up and he couldn't see anymore. Ironically the only way to do that was to carry around a bushel of onions with him
all the time
to force himself to cry. This worked out for nearly two years. But then one night Aunt Clementine was visiting from Saskatchewan, and she decided to make a big pot of..."

THUD!

A sack falls from the ceiling and lands smack in the middle of the table. It bounces a bit like a deflated basketball might. Gavin sticks his hand in the sack and pulls out a deep crimson fingertip.

He squeels with his mouth closed producing an odd sound as his eyes roll back in his head. "Wow this is sweet and tingly. Really pure innocence in this one." Gavin pulls the head out of the bag and tosses it onto the scale. You notice it is just a poor little boy. Who would do such a thing to a child? "7.6 pounds! Great I've always wondered how much lighter a child's head would be" Gavin shouts with excitement.

You survey the crowd and notice that Amrun is missing. In her bookbag left next to her chair you notice a flyer that says "Lost Dog"

Amrun has been killed. She was the little boy who lost his dog, she was a Seeking Mason and she was certainly and
Innocent Character
.

You then look back to the bag and relieved to see it empty. One head is a nice change from the gruesome 31 of last night's mass murdering.

It is now Day 3. With 16 alive it will take 9 to lynch or 8 to No Lynch

Yes. Reason was the continued pushing of DGB for "hard evidence" after she'd already claimed role-related reasons. It's effectivley just role-fishing in scum-IS's standard Conspiratorial Cassandra rhetoric.

That's it Vollkan? I'm the eternal scum, the scum of all scum, the most vile man in all of the universe because you think I was role-fishing?!? Back to this weaksauce shit Vollkan? Really? No voting analysis to fuel an Umbrage conspiracy theory? No looking for blatant distancing? No breaking down of my reasons for going after DBG in the first place? No lucky slip ups in my arguments with Elvis.

Nope none, just role fishin.

Phew, glad to be alive, I made a lot of notes during the night not being sure I'd ever have the chance to post them in the thread, but I figured I could post the notes in the dead QT. Yesterday was soooo revealing. One of the most revealing days I've ever seen.

Why? Because of the particularities of a scum needing 2/3 majority lynch. Scum knew this. And they betrayed this in their behavior.

KIDS IN THE HALL

All these players are now behaviorally confirmed:

DrippingGoofball
elvis_knits
scooby - confirmed "I'm 99% sure this is Umbrage scum trying to play the DERPFATE card."
Porochaz
vollkan
VP Baltar - confirmed for suggesting an Umbrage
modkill
, you don't do that to your nearly unlynchable buddy.
Amrun
imaginality
Untrod Tripod
Lurconis

WORMS AND BUGS AND GRIT

Still not sure about this guy.

Medicated Lain

SCUM CANDIDATES

Lord Gurgi
- "Proxy Vote: IS"
Mysterio/evilpacman
- Lurkerscum? Nothing to exonerate them during the epic Umbrage lynch.
***Umbrage***
-
score!!!!!!!!

Internet Stranger
- 100% scum
Mist Beauty

MrBuddyLee
(voted Umbrage post-lynch, has done nothing at all, all game)

CALCULATIONS

Lord Gurgi:

"Proxy Vote: IS" - Lord Gurgi has been a slippery eel, however, his proxying vote to a scum is a mitigating factor. Who would proxy their vote to their buddy????

SpyreX:

Did little but distract with aborted wagons of the future.
"VP why you take your good vote away and replace it with a bad vote [Umbrage]?"
- Then SpyreX votes me when we're working on over-lynching Umbrage. That is extraoridinarily bad.
ALTHOUGH:
"If that requires freaking everyone to do this so it can be done FINE."
- His firm commitment to the lynch plan, combined with his expressed frustration, is a mitigating factor.

IS:

"DBG, oh look opportunistic Umbrage vote to start the day. Great!"
- when I was perfectly CORRECT that Umbrage & Co had killed Kison because Kison was a mega-double voting threat to Kison which could have been VERY problematic in endgame.
"You completely ignored my very awesome points of your attacks on Umbrage"
"If you can get past all the lunacy, Umbrage actually has a point."

And for those that think in-your-face rolefishing is too-scummy-for-scum, remember Umbrage:
"DGB: explain what the omelettes do now. I'm not rolefishing."

And then:
"Meta arguments do not work on Umbrage. Im unsure if he is scum just because of the raging though. Whats the argument on him anyways?"

I've counted EIGHT posts where IS tries to divert the Umbrage wagon onto vollkan, SIX of which were urgent appeals while Umbrage was in dire jeopardy.

Mist Beauty:

"Is there really a point to testing this? I can't think of any reasons a player would post it unless it were true."

When MistBeauty put Umbrage at L+1, with a Princess role speculation, she knew he wouldn't be lynched, because she switched to Lord Gurgi.

MrBuddyLee:

Voted Umbrage post-lynch, has done nothing at all, all game.

IN ORDER OF SCUMMINESS

IS/MistBeauty
Mysterio/evilpacman (not sure where to fit this lurker, so smack in the middle of the pack)
SpyreX
Lord Gurgi
MBL - seems to be genuinely not following, but none of his behavior yesterday puts him in the town category.
