I don't have that much time to dedicate to playing. I normally can post about every 72h but everytime I have to read a lot or people wait for me to post the game stalls.

/facepalm. When everyone except you has massclaimed, you MASSCLAIM! That doesn't take a bloody readthrough! It's all fine and dandy if you want to read through and try and catch scum 'the old way', but when everyone wants you to claim, that's a good reason to do so!

Also, given the above, why would you not claim if you somehow, miraculously, managed to find garunteed scum in your reread? Or even a good suspect? You're making significantly less sense than I expected anyone to in this game. Can anyone else help me understand what the heck he's thinking?

unless you are fakeclaiming or trying to find a way out of claiming, niether of which I find protown.

I would like to make some considerations on this.

FAKECLAIMING

I really don't believe anymore that there are fakeclaims in this game. Simply because there are no 'evil' science laws, therefore there is no need to pick a 'good' law. (and if there was there are hundreds of laws to pick)

Knight of Cydonia - Newton's 3rd Law

KoC claimed Newton's third and he actualy was it.
dahill also claimed a N law, and his verified power makes very little sense as antitown..
KoC claimed a power that didn't make sense as a protown power (target another player and make him a paranoid gun owner) and that was really his power.

Based on our experience with KoC we could say that Law name is irrelevant to catch scum,

we should focus on claimed powers

- Ideal Gas Law. Jailkeeper
Blocked KoC stopping him from targetting Lord Gurgi and possibly the reason for the lack of nightkills.

- First law of Thermodynamics - Roleblocker
Power could be either mafia or town. May also be the reason for the lack of nightkills.

Awesome Pants

- Claimed neither law nor power
So far only said his power is more useful to town if unknown.

dahill because of his power, it would be broken on scum hands.

imaginality because of his participation on KoC's lynch. KoC made LG a Paranoid Gun Owner. It should have killed Gorrad (who targeted LG), but Imag jailkept KoC and stopped him from using his power. It doesn't make much sense imaginality be on the same group as KoC.

What only I knew

It's obvious that my reluctance to claim was not just stubborness.
I know, because of my role, that scum earns special powers in this game by killing specific targets.

I was initially expecting to catch scum for rolefishing like this:

Thanks for that dahill. I think I can see a pattern emerging here: you're 1st law, I'm 3rd Law... can anyone remembr the second law? I'm not a physics student, but it might help. Alternatively, if someone would claim it, I'd be happier.
I'm pretty sure dahill is telling the truth, because it makes sense: a group of Newton's Laws (me, ??? and dahill) who give other players abilities, a group of laws that are harmful (Chaos Theory?), and some "good" laws - the townies.

The problem is that everybody agreed to the massclaim, so that became a null tell.

PROPOSAL

:

I'm confident I already found one scum among that group of four, so I propose that before we continue the massclaim you analyze my points against this person.

In case we all agree on a lynch we go to the next day with the advantage of two unknown laws. (mafia won't be 100 % sure whom to nightkill)

In case you still doubt the person is mafia we can finish the massclaim

Four reasons why Ku_F is scum:

1- rolefishing

Y'know, Ku_F, maybe YOU should claim before telling others to.

Ku_F always admitted being gravity (which says nothing) and her targets, but avoided claiming her role and kept asking for claims since she got into the game.

2- lying about her role

First:

I'll tell you. I've got the best ability of all. But just like AP, it's better not to know .

Then:

I can't tell my role as I don't know what it is.

3 - claim sonds fake

It says: You're gravity. Each night you MUST choose a target. You don't know what it does. If you don't choose a target, I (armlx) will choose randomly for you.

As I said the key in this game is checking if nightactions sound reasonable and are verifiable.
Her nightaction does not fit the others known and cannot be confirmed.
I really think it's fake.

Firstly, that's only three reasons, was there one that you intentionally decided to leave out or something?

I think I'm happy with a Ku_F lynch but I kinda had DR and Ku_F down as scum partners. I guess DR could be bussing, but I'm not sure. His case against Ku_F is certainly not really very strong which is kinda in conflict with his comment that:

Today I think we should lynch either DR or KF. I'm unsure of which would be the right play though, I think I'll have to mull over it while I sip from my latte and stretch out my pinky.

I think all three of those are flimsy reasons. The first one I guess COULD be taken as a scumtell, but at least Ku_F DID claim. I think the 'best ability of all' was just a joke. Hence the wink. And the third, while it does sound iffy, I've seen many other games with similar roles. I think it would actually make a measure of sense in this one.

That said, Ku_F is far from cleared, and I think scum is amongst Ku_F, DR, and imaginality.

Saying I am this or that law won't make anyone more or less sure that I'm guilty or innocent.

Saying I am this or that law will make scum sure about who their target is.

Man, I said claiming will not make you a bit more or a bit less sure wether I'm innocent or not.
It's not like this is a game where we can guess alignement by role name.
It's pointless.
I could simply throw a random law among the hundreds that exist just to satisfy people.

A question to everyone, about what happened at the start of day 3:

1) Gorrad claimed he'd roleblocked Gurgi night 2 and therefore Gurgi was scum (because there were no night kills
2) then KoC claimed he'd made Gurgi a PGO and therefore Gorrad was lying
3) then I revealed that I'd jailed KoC

I'm wondering what people make of KoC coming out against Gorrad like that. If they're both scum, he wouldn't have needed to. On the other hand, if Gorrad was town, KoC could have let Gurgi get lynched and then Gorrad would likely have been lynched the next day (obv. it wouldn't have happened like that since my jailing KoC muddied the waters, but I hadn't claimed at that point).

The only reasonable possibilities, as far as I can see:

1. Gorrad is scum, either Gorrad or KoC didn't target LG, KoC and Gorrad had agreed KoC would bus Gorrad

2. Gorrad is town, KoC did target LG, so knew he was roleblocked. Went after Gorrad not so much thinking he'd get him lynched, but wanting to find out who roleblocked him.

3. Gorrad is town, KoC didn't target LG, KoC was just hoping to get Gorrad lynched (we were in mylo). Didn't know I'd roleblocked him.

Did I miss something here? If not, which do you think is more likely, 1 or 2/3?

Also, I am willing to lynch Ku_F, thanks to flavor and the fact that I RB'd him and there was no kill, but DR is either scum or completely dense, so my vote is on him until he either wises up and claims (and claims something that makes me want to change my vote), or is lynched.

but i just have this nagging feeling that he has some kind of power (as scum) that could put at us a major disadvantage that overrides RB, jailing, etc.

Seems like Ku_F and DR's powers are connected (the thing about having to target someone every night and how DR claims to know that the scum get advantages if they target the right person). Could be they're both scum, but definitely I think one of them is.

Let's see. If you don't know what your role does, then wouldn't you avoid saying your role as well as some players don't trust it?
Scum would really come up with my role, while one mislynch could mean their victory. From every role I could choose, I pick a role which says only that you should target someone. Makes sense for scum to use.

How do you know I'm lying? Perhaps my role is the best one, but i don't know that yet .
But serious. I didn't lie. At this moment assume that I'm townie. I claim my role, which says that I must target every night, but I don't know what it does. Would you suspect me, yes or no?
If the answer is no, then it clearly was better for you not to know, which is what I said.

DR, explain to me why you don't trust my claim, but there's nothing suspicious/scummy about Imaginality's change of role? We don't know your or AP's role yet. Is your role a normal one or is it different than usual?
