I'm undecided on Guillotina - lots of examples of selective reading, bad faith arguments, and strawmanning, which would suggest scum. But the abrasive, confrontational and un-cooperative approach makes me think town. I don't think Guillotina-scum survives long in this game, so willing to give the benefit of the doubt for today at least.

My initial hero solve is Gamma-Tom-Aristo, although I haven't read all the way through yet.
Also, can you explain to me what “stawmanning” is please?
strawmanning is when you suggest someone is making a particular argument, which they are not making, and then proceed to explain why that argument doesn't hold.
I know this is a lot to ask but as someone who is always trying to become better at playing this game, would you mind pointing examples of strawmanning in my posts? Thank you

You are town.

The best way to categorize me is that I'm a bad scummy town. Take a deep look at those who try to yeet me or cast suspicions on me for ridiculous reasons instead.

because you're arguing about sod all for the sake of it.
Im sorry, can you elaborate on that?

he hasn't done anything to make me think he's town, and I have a low tolerance for letting quiet scum survive too long. Who knows what info we'll get - depends what happens next (i.e. who votes for him, who doesn't, who defends him and why). These open games are pretty swingy, so I think scum might have a lower propensity to bus (eliminate their team-mates) than normal.

probably
just scum. Probably indicates doubt like words such as maybe, perhaps etc. So you said that maybe im just scum and you are willing to yeet me without certainty of your own read.

ooh ooh I can answer this!

It's completely normal not to express absolute certainty in your reads, especially on Day 1 when it's unlikely you have any mechanical knowledge of the game. Also "probably" and "maybe" are different. This, btw, is an example of strawmanning - you're attacking Taylor for something that she didn't say, although even if she had said it, it wouldnt have been particularly scummy.

most people are probably town. ~75% or so.
lets say that probably means >50% (the most conservative definition)
if you are probably scum, that means you are twice as likely as random to flip scum. its day 1, and im gonna hedge because im not sure of anything. i dont like to pretend that my scumreads are definitely scum.

I do have a low tolerance for coasting scum players too but pob long has not done anything to make me think he is either alignment. I'd rather wait to see if he gets substituted by someone who actually wanna play the game because that slot could be a town PR you know?

That said, i'd yeet him out of self preservation.

Ok for the record. Im not attacking Tayl0r... im defending myself from Tayl0r.
I'm town so my interpretation might be different than the intended message from someone accusing me of being scum thus I countered it with the intention to get more information.

The rules says you gotta post once the first 48 hours and then after that, once every 24 hours. I've hosted games too and as a host if a player ghosts the game i process a substitution.

i think the rules state that you have to post once every 48 hours, and if you fail to do so you get prodded. after a prod you have 24 hours to post before getting replaced.

the mod sends you a PM "prodding" you so you come back to the game. like a cattle prod to get the cow moving.

a prod is a private message saying "please post". In reality, and especially in a game like this, Mods are not always meticulous on prodding after that time frame. And pob long HAS posted, he just hasn't said much.

No comment from Taylor on pob long?
