After that take your pick. I dunno.

Dan has slotted into what I would expect from them. I understand they can be good scum. But I'm not seeing a deviation from their typical playstyle and approach.

Tunnelling isn’t at all unusual for me other than I’m far far more likely to do that as town.

feels like the game is stalling at a time when we need to be consolidating

my top lim is KittyTacky, I would happily settle for Bell (I don't think his latest string of posts was all that townie either) or kuti, wouldn't be happy but at this point wouldn't throw a fit about Roden, Greeting, or Vivax elims - I do suspect there's potentially at least one maf in that pool though it wouldn't surprise me if any of them flipped town. Anyone else is prob a no-go for me, I could see worlds where I vote for Rat but doesn't feel like they have any real momentum currently

I think overall the town consensus (people who have votes) is a fairly good limpool, and I suspect the fact that several wagons have gotten to around 3-5 votes and then died means at least one is scum and scum are playing really tentatively around the deadline here. in general the common thread between KT, Bell, kuti is they all feel very reactive to being pressured rather than proactive about hunting scum, so like I say we pick one and yeet because we're out of time now for them to start really advancing the game of their own accord

Thinking more about Dann's point about Kitty being 'sacrificed', I don't know if I really think it's all that likely because I don't get the sense from the current gamestate that there's a particular wagon being pushed by scum with an agenda

also I'm really tired and can't remember who but someone made a point about "chaining miselims" earlier and it just occurred to me that's not really possible in this set up since scum pick the gladiate for future days and trying to carry out such an agenda would be fairly obvious? or at least a clear WIFOM situation if scum sets up a preflip and then they're Shiny New Top Scumread after the miselim winds up in the next day's Turing test. so I need to go back and find that post but maybe that's a townslip because scum would already be thinking about how they're going to play D2 and beyond to some degree

what other mountainous games have you played

this feels like a wack excuse for not playing, like what do you do in non-mountainous games when you roll Vanilla Townie? Even if we had a ton of PRs, even if YOU were a PR, we'd still have no info for D1, how does that excuse detached D1 play?
1. None on-site, some on Discord tho.
2.1 I am playing, just I feel I'm doing so poorly and I don't know what to do.
2.2 I still try to play around PRs. Not their results, but how people respond to claims and speculation etc etc.

I hyperopost when I see something that I latch on to.

I haven't had time to catch up with the thread and read everything that's been posted. Currently out in the mountains and driving 6+ hours each day.

I will try to block out some time to catch up before the deadline.

I am going to try to care a little less about forcing my preferred elimination through because people have complained in the past of me being too controlly and I don't want to be that person that nobody wants to play with.

I am trying to be more considerate of the opinions of others but I simply do not have time to at the present.

In post 773, GuiltyLion wrote:RR didn't give an answer to my question of why scum!Vivax does the "didn't check if this was hammer". There's not really any reasoning for why scum!Vivax does this but not town!Vivax.
I thought I had already explained this, but not caring about the hammer demonstrates that Vivax was okay with killing Greeting. Then immediately afterwards, he sheeps your unvote to "give him a chance to respond," blaming the potentially killing vote on panic.

This makes absolutely no sense from a Town POV; why would Town panic induce bloodlust? If anything it makes far more sense to UNvote from a panic reaction as Town.

From a scum POV, there is a situation where one might panic and vote someone: For some reason, Vivax wanted to be on the wagon when Greeting dies, and was afraid the chance would be missed if he'd waited. The only reason I can think of is that Greeting is a bus wagon, and Vivax wanted the credit for participating.

Then, after it becomes apparent that Greeting ISN'T in immediate danger, Vivax backs off. Could be self-consciousness of how weird the vote was, could be that there's no reason to push a bus through if true mislims are still on the table, I don't know. But I wouldn't expect a Town player to transition so suddenly from intent to kill into allowing the target space.

So if the only explanation I can think of is that Greeting was a bus vote, why Vivax over Greeting? For one, sometimes scum does things for no reason, and that would be consistent with Vivax's other plays, so maybe Greeting's still Town in all of this. And if they are both scum, I think Vivax's presence and posting are going to be actively detrimental to the gamestate later on, and we won't have any way to deal with it unless scum decides to test him, which I don't expect to happen. So Vivax takes precedence for me.
Peer pressure is a thing. It may not even be a conscious reaction. The fact that
Vivax
briefly jumped on my wagon might not be alignment indicative at all.
