Hmm... A bit of a tricky one, but if we get them both, we'll win, and we've been good at guessing so far.

GAS and OIL are possibilities, but I would expect a clue more directly related to petrochemicals if that's the case. If Farren's thinking materials engineering, then IRON and GLASS could do it, too.

What were our last two clues? I’m still stumped and what was the assassin word?

SHIP and OIL were the last two red words; EAGLE was the assassin.

DIVER, GAS, and (especially) PILOT were pretty tough to work around. I could not for the life of me think of anything to tie KANGAROO and OIL together - other than DINOSAUR, but that also points to EAGLE, and arguably better than Kangaroo does.

I was thinking of engineering bays specifically, which would be found in a ship and would utilize oil. Couldn't use ENGINEER due to Pilot; couldn't use ENGINE due to Gas.

Thought about things that float - but so do GHOSTs, as do DIVERs on the return trip.
Thought about Water, but that hits GLASS and DIVER.

Anything power-based hits GAS.
Thought about pistons and hydraulics, but wasn't 100% sure about the latter, and thought pistons would be more likely to hit IRON than SHIP.

I would have picked WHEEL in that case, because ships have a wheel and the “squeaky wheel gets the grease”saying.
