It's alright, not all just on you. I should've latched onto Vulture's quickwagon D2. Mafia is a team effort, after all. At least next time you'll learn caution in ELo and get better at playing.

Hey guys, should I play a large or mini normal next? What's recommended for a newish player?

I dislike larges on principle, they’re pretty painful with all the people you have to sort and all the mechanics that are often flying around and so on. It does depend on just how large the large is and how gimmicky it is. One thing you should do, especially if you’re going to play a large, but you should do it regardless, is get an avatar; it really helps people recognise you in-thread and such.

For what it's worth, I think Roden had genuine IRL activity problems - I didn't detect any sense that he was unhappy playing scum, or how the game was going.

I also think the person who occupied my slot previously never picked up their role pm because they had abandoned the site between joining the queue and the game start.

I mention this because I wouldn't want you to have a false impression going forward because that's how it worked out in this game. I've replaced into 3 games, now, I think, and 2 of those were town.
