I jumped right out of the newbie queue into a large theme game after my first newbie game. But, I had forum mafia experience. The main things I needed to get used to was 2 week game days and majority lynches.
Newbie games can be fun and challenging. Kinda depends on the player list, which is why I tend to replace into games
Even though I jumped into other queues right away, I still played newbie games. I played one this month!

I think I'll try another newbie game first then.

And Una, please play another one or two MS games. As others said, the games you were part of, weren't really ordinary. I played horribly both games. I'm sorry that you had to feel the burden both times :/

I was just frustrated at my bad games, I did queue up already. Sorry for sounding so dramatic.
I like controlled setups where logic and profiling works, I hate chaotic games and plays that just dont drive winconditions. It makes my brainwork feel worthless, and the games best aspect to me is lost.
Therefore I get frustrated when more than two players seem obviously scummy, and I feel like I cant put my thoughts to words and drive the point home.
Your play was better than mine, just a different style I think.
Im also looking forward to Cabd giving me feedback, I've come to respect him as a player through very few interactions already.

hey guys, i apologise for my bad play this game. I was literally in like 6 or 7 games at once when this first started so i was a bit overwhelmed. I'll endeavor to play to my full potential next time. Congrats to scum, definitely wouldnt have guessed that team.

Your first mistake is assuming my play is to be respected~

Is this the sort of sensei-thing where I should now realize this was the full feedback?
And that life is full of uncertainty?
And that I should never question you, especially not, when you say that I should always question everyone and everything, including you?

Nah; just that you think too highly of my play.

This thread seems to be very dead but also not locked. Are we still waiting for play feedback from mhs etc? I certainly wouldn't mind, but no obligation obviously.

Typically the listmod locks threads in batches. I've been slow on getting around to feedback, but will try to do so when I have some time. PROBABLY this weekend?
PS Just think of this as getting acclimated to "wow smith really is lazy sometimes", a phenomenon known wide and far on MS

In general, postgame threads on mafiascum are not locked for a few weeks after the game ends; to allow for post game discussion. You're welcome to ask for feedback about specific things, though! Most of us are ICs in some capacity even if we weren't the IC in this specific game.

I don't usually lock my game threads. The listmod locks them before moving them to the completed games subforum.
I'm not sure if smith intended to provide more specific feedback than he has, but I'm sure he'll drop by since the thread was bumped. p-edit OH LOOK
If you have any specific questions, I can try to answer them, too.

I guess my biggest question is about how I kept getting accused for defending people etc. Since I was almost always going to be lynched
second
I wasn't too worried and saw it as a semi-good thing because I knew I would be vindicated etc. but it did mean I was tanking more suspicion than Miles. Was this a good situation to be in or strive for or should I be more careful of stuff like that in the future as scum? Anybody can answer.

This is not going to be a definitive answer, I'm afraid.
It really comes down to what you'd do as town (or think you'd do given you didn't have a forum-based towngame to compare your reactions to). Some players primarily scumhunt. Some players primarily townhunt/POE and some do a combo.
If you primarily scumhunt then your reads tend to be shades of suspicion from a lot to not so much. If you primarily townhunt then your reads will tend toward shades of trust.
My style is combo, but sometimes I depend almost entirely on POE to find scum. This has led to me "buddying" and defending my townreads. It may set off suspicions in players that don't know me, but I'll only go so far in adapting my play to avoid suspicion. Part of the way I develop reads is based on how people develop their reads of me.

@Pers: It can also vary by player base and game situation. If you're sort of scummy but not lynchable, in general that's an ok spot to be in, ESPECIALLY if enough town power is dead that you might conceivably need to justify why you're still alive (also because if town power is alive and unknown, then that scummy guy under you in the lsit could be a PR and then you start eating pressure).
Ideally as scum, you're in a "town core" that's strong enough that no one will ever question why you're still alive, but that's generally pretty hard to achieve.
I'll probably try and look at the specifics a bit more when I have time, but that's my quick answer.
