my philosophy on cop checks is to go for null reads, and the way you talked about the guilty gave me some weird gut pings. (there's another wiki article on this, although it's just an opinion piece: A View on Cops)

i'm kind of thinking that the last scum is just rampage but i really have no idea how i would evaluate if this is nacho's scumgame or not.

The thing about nsg's claim is that scum knows the setup but we don't. Assuming nsg is scum, we are looking at goon/goon with the rest of us being VTs. There is no counter claim to be made. It makes sense for her to fakeclaim at this point. What other scum strategy would get her out of her current predicament? Considering where she's at in the game, fakeclaiming is a pretty logical move for scum!nsg. Plus she might have thought she could pocket me by giving me conf town status.

We have the entire day cycle to try and discern if she is telling the truth. One thing that speaks in her favor is that (were she scum) you'd think she'd choose someone other than nancy to include in her ruse. Why not say she tracked Rampage N1 and possibly pocket two of us? But it's venturing into WIFOM territory to pay too much credence to her choice of "targets." Also, if she conf towns two of us, that might help our PoE more than she'd like.

It's tempting to take a possible tracker into lylo. But what good will it do us to have her as a tracker on D4? Let's say we lynch Rampage today. He flips green. Then we're in lylo pretty much having to take her word for it that she's telling the truth about who she tracked. What good is a tracker if their word cannot be trusted? Then again (if she actually is making a genuine tracker claim) scum might NK her tonight and that really would help our PoE.

That article doesn't at all apply to investigating when there is only one scum left alive - the major reason for investigating null reads is to stop from outing yourself for an investigation on someone who was dead anyways, but in a last scum alive scenario, outing in order to win the game is clearly worth it.

like, i still have to go back to see how much ircher/rampage looked like T/S vs T/T, but even then i'm not sure how comfortable i'd be bringing him to lylo.

Scioness is the only person who would have significant reason to NK NSG tonight and even then it's not very likely at all. Counting on scum to narrow down your mislynch pool is almost always a bad idea.

I will have a chunk of time tomorrow; I'll work on a Rampage-town case and go more in depth on what I've found from NSG's meta then. In the meantime, if anyone has any questions for me that won't take an excessive amount of time to answer than shoot away. Don't think NSG's claim should effect things much at all - she took a player off the table the majority of the town wasn't really considering and as a result didn't really affect the gamestate at all.

I think we need to wait for everyone to check in. If no one counters the claim, then we have to proceed as if NSG and VT are town, which leaves Scioness, Nachomamma, and me to choose from. I am leaning towards Scioness myself. I had a gut feeling about them, but I know I am vanilla. So in my eyes it is down to Nacho and Scioness. However, with us being in a situation where we mislynch today and tomorrow and lose, this becomes a rough state of affairs. I would almost prefer to be the lynch as it takes me off the table and the remaining 2 town can make their own reads as NSG will die tonight, but at the same time, I am hopeful I can convince Vulcan that I am town as well.

This is not true.
There is no guarantee that there is two PRs in the game based on the setup on the first page.
