no in that game he was eager to answer to every question about the theme the game was built around or joking. that gave me a scumread.

I just looked through the possible roles in a normal game (something I've never done and probably should have done before now).
I saw nothing that in any way, shape, or form dictates this kind of play. So I'm fine with lynching him.
