I get that you scumread me because of the vote thing but you're wrong and I'll insist that it was the right play
Your argument was that it would introduce apathy but clearly nobody was excited to play this game anyways or something?
Since when do scum try to create apathy by blocking everyone else from voting? If anything scum should want faster deadlines so we rush to compromise lynch someone, right?
I don't scumread you for trying to hold up the deadline I scumread you because of the lack of you doing anything for it and the long ass post you made about it. It's so anti you the only time I ever saw you do that is when you openly went out of your way to do so in a game we were in. So I'm like "Why would Dunn go out of his way like this" the only answer I could come to is your scum trying to get brownie points because you haven't said anything about wanting to mix up game styles. The second part of your argument isn't valid because you're acting like "scummy" and "towny" have a definition they don't. Scum can try to do X for Y reason as can town it depends on the context of the game and given you're trying to use said argument in your favor doesn't help
Uh... because It got stopped immediately though? Like I obviouslly intended to go somewhere with it? Once the mod told me to move it along there was no more pressure in the thread and no use dragging it on for the 24 hours I had
In post 202, Spiffeh wrote:Some would argue that there won’t be any meaningful contribution before votes actually count.
Also why?
I'll argue that there can be lots of meaningful contribution before votes
Here is why I think this is a good idea:
Game starts off with nobody full on lurking - everybody is sortable, vs a day 1 lynch with slots nobody can read and everybody is ok lynching
Nobody claims their role prematurely only to get unvoted and move onto the next wagon
Some people think games move too fast, this way everyone can get their toes in the water and won't have any excuses not to do so - this ties in with the lurker thing
Town is made to pay attention to players who are lurking/active lurking on day 1
Here are arguments for this being a bad idea:
People are impatient and want to hurry the game up (I don't care)
People think there's no readable content without votes - not true, people can discuss reads, and of course when I vote the votes will be open to everyone and they can put their money where there mouth is. Momentum can still form, in a sense.
People don't want to contribute to the game on day 1/before there are flips (The rest of us do want you to contribute on day 1/before there are flips)
But tell you what, I'm not a tyranical dictator, if this proves to be wildly unpopular then I'll open up the day if 13 players type HEAL: Start the day, though I would prefer that everyone contributed
I'll count that, the tags are HEAL: if you needs them
Instead of adding to your own "contribution" you just made a long winded post on why it was a good idea and said you'll basically be taking charge and handling the heal tags basically avoiding any legitimate content. This has nothing to do with fakegod ending it early you could've said something in the posts before yet you didn't.
Is that the only part you're going to answer?

I expected pressure to be on me at first, but once it was clear I wasn't budging I expected pressure to shift to the lurkers, the option to skip past it with the heal stuff was a way to get people to take a solid stance (either opposing the plan/wanting to skip it for whatever reason or not)
Of course, lurkers could have voted to heal too but that would have perked some eyebrows and would require explanation on their part

This line of reasoning is really dumb
Obviously that was the start of my contribution, you didn't see the rest to come and are just making assumptions
