RULES OF THE GAME
1. I am the mod. My word is law.
2. I am fallible. If you believe I have made a mistake, for instance in a votecount, kindly point it out and I will fix it. If you have more serious grievances, please PM me.
3. This is a game. The point is to have fun. Personal attacks will not be tolerated.
4. Do not quote private communications with me or with other players. This includes your role PM. Breaking this rule will result in a modkill.
5. You may not discuss the game outside the thread unless permitted to do so by your role.
6. Votes should be made in bold, such as
Vote: OhGodMyLife
. When changing your vote, please
Unvote: OGML
. This is not entirely necessary but makes my job easier. For the same reason, please put all votes at the bottom of your posts. You may use nicknames and acronyms as long as it is reasonably clear who you are referring to.
7. A lynch suffers the requirement of a simple majority. If there is no majority at deadline,
there will be no lynch.
8. Once a majority is reached, that player is lynched and no further votes or unvotes will be counted.
9. Once you are dead, you are dead. No more posting, not even a "Bah!" post. Save it for the endgame discussion.
10. This game will have
set deadlines
. Each day phase will last
two weeks
, and each night phase will last three days.
11. Activity levels are expected to be high. If you don't post in a 72 hour period, you will be prodded. If you don't post within 48 hours of receiving a prod, you will be replaced. If you have to be prodded more than three times during the game, you may be replaced without warning. Please treat this game as a commitment to your fellow players.
Roles are being randomized and distributed. Please confirm via PM that you have received your role and understand your win condition. Any role which allows night talk may do so during the confirmation stage.

Hello! Most of you know me already, so we can do away with the presentations. Remind me, do any of you here have a problem with me? I'd love to know that.

Maaaybe you.
Unvote, vote Korlash
Or you?
Come on, which one of you doesn't like me? Speak up!!
Unvote, vote Green Crayons
Could it be you, Erg0? Have I ever offended you? Probably.
I'll safely switch back to Gorrad. He seems like the fairest candidate for disliking me on the counts of youthful folly, incessant jubilance and scintillating wisecracking.

And if they had been town, or our cop? You didn't seem to willing to let either of them claim, or even defend themselves, especially because they were going to be replaced.
Regardless, that recklessness earns you my auto-suspicion...

. On a long enough line time, everyone second guesses even their most deep-seeded convictions. Quick lynching two separate scum is not exactly something I would be trying to hurl as an accusation against a player in a separate game. Not sure why you're bringing it up as if it's a negative quality - all it shows me is that NotMe has either a great gut or is able to deduce scum pretty well. ...Something over which I would
really
want to lynch him.

Well, it was just the basis for my random vote, but to justify it, he did it on two players who never got a chance to defend themselves, or roleclaim, and both were scheduled to be replaced... Within the context of that game, those aren't hammers I would have dropped, without at least the claim. Furthermore, he didn't contribute much to the discussion before either move.
With that meta in the open, I'll
Unvote
. I'd like to caution people against putting others on L-1 if they have any hesitation about that person getting lynched. Expect quick-hammers.

Query: [Insert Subject Name Here]
Since when do random votes need "justification"?
When you said you had "auto-suspicion," was that false?
Posted: Sun Mar 15, 2009 1:51 pm
by Giuseppe
Everyone gives a good random vote some kind of clever justification. As for auto-suspicion, if I said it wasn't I'd have been lying. No, rather, call it a bit of uneasiness about having him in the game to begin with. Perhaps not suspicion, but certainly a tingle of fear that he might not be as lucky as he was last game.

by GhostWriter
That makes no sense. A truly random vote doesn't have a reason, ergo, a "good random vote" would be a vote that has nothing with it, just the vote part. However, I believe all our "random" votes have a reason, but for us, our "random" votes are just stupid votes, designed to get a reaction. For instance, mine was simply to allow me to make a reference to the video game. Yours, however, seems to be because you actually have a real reason behind it. It's closer to a real vote than a random one.

by Giuseppe
And, well, I drew a reaction, didn't I? The main goal, I suppose, was to put my experience with this particular player out there. However, I have no proof he's scum, and having accomplished the goal of establishing the meta, I've unvoted, and from here, I'm going to launch future discussion from how people criticize/critique my move.
