posts with links take forever to submitt

recently, (last 2 moths perhaps) I've noticed that posts with multiple links take forever (>15 seconds) to completely submit, and sometimes get hung up. I've observed this behavior with 4 different browsers on 2 operating systems.

Only external links? Might be a spamfilter issue, but I haven't noticed a significant delay in posting mafiascum links (can't remember the last time I posted one that was offsite).

I have no idea why that would be... point me to the posts so I can see which version(s) of the URL bbcode is being used.
