This is a game I run once on another page but was dead because I had an accident and couldn't carry on (no co-mods there).

In the nearings of the San Lorenzo de Almagro Futbol Club, an enormous shantytown keeps growing. Murders are at the call of the day. Thefts, kidnappings and all kinds of crimes take place without any apparent response from the authorities. Drug money keeps flowing and empowering the different gangs that terrorize Bajo Flores.
The innocent people of this neighborhood are desperate for a solution before all hell breaks loose. We are approaching a breaking point.


Based in real facts!

There are three known Mafia gangs.

The Argentinians.
The Bolivians.
The Paraguayans.

Each mafia consists in one normal mafia goon and one mafia with a power role (Lookout, Bodyguard or Corrupt Cop)

The drug traffic varies depending the amount of mafia gangs left. (Extremely High, High, Moderate, insignificant)

The only roles that will show up upon death are Cops, Journalists, Doctors and Rich men. Without specifications of sanity or efficiency.

Possible Roles:

Arms Dealer:

He has the ability to give each night a free NK (for the next night) to any chosen player. Although he doesn't belong to any, he is pro mafia, and appears so if investigated. In order to win he must survive and a mafia gang must win the game.

Cops:


Sane:
He is able to watch people at night and find if they are mafia or not. His results are always the truth.

Paranoid:
He always finds the target to be the mafia.

Naive:
He always finds the target to be innocent.

Corrupt Cop:
Works for the mafia. He is able to watch people at night and find if they are mafia or not. (he can be either Sane, Paranoid or Naive)

Doctor:


Efficient:
He guards the target from death.

Intern:
He has a 50 % chance of guarding the target.

Witch Doctor:
He kills his targets instead of guarding them.

Journalist


Good:
He tracks a person each night and finds out where it went.

Lousy:
He tracks a person each night but has only a 50 % chance of succeeding. If he fails, he will receive a random person.

Lookout:

The lookout is a roleblocker that works for the mafia.

Vigilante:

The Vigilante has the ability to Night Kill. He is pro Town.

Serial Killer:

The crazy sniper has the ability to Night Kill. He wins when everybody else is dead.

Rich Man:

The Rich man is a townie that if killed, generates a lot of heat in the media. So its killer is rapidly hunt down by the GEOF (Argentinian Special Forces, like SWAT or SAS)

Security:

Same as a bodyguard. He can protect someone from death. When his target is attacked he dies and drags the killer with him.

Beggar:

The beggar is a townie that can hide behind other people to avoid being night killed. If the person behind whom they were hiding is targeted they will die too.

Hooligans:

The Hooligans are like masons. They are townies and they know each other's alignment.

ShantyTown Leader:

The leader is elected by secret vote every day. He gains a roleblocking ability for the night but cannot attempt another night action if he uses the roleblock. He has 2 lynching votes (not necessarily to the same person)

You may be able to use your abilities forever, or just once or twice.


TIPS:
People may PM me to give anonymous tips to the police at night. A random cop will be chosen each time a tip is sent and he will receive it. You wont be sure which cop gets the tip... It could be a corrupt one, a sane one, etc.
One TIP per night. Tips are night actions. You can only make one Night action per night so if you send a tip, you can't perform another action.

to send a tip Write TIP as the title of your PM to me.

How I choose the setup varies with the amount of players and some random things.
I finally had 12 people and used
1 Arms Dealer
1 Argentinian mafia goon
1 Argentinian mafia RB
1 Paraguayan mafia goon
1 Paraguayan mafia cop
1 Sane cop
1 Efficient: Doc
1 Good Journalist
1 Security Guy
1 Beggar
2 Hooligans
1 Townie.

They managed to lynch the cop and kill the doc and journalist in one night. They are a bit hasty over there...

But I was wondering what do you think about it? I'm not gonna mod it soon because I don't have 3 months yet and I want to mod a mini normal first but I'd like your input on the mod. Ideas, Suggestions, critique...

I've read everything about balancing and modding in the mafia wiki but I'm not sure of how this game can develop if I don't try it. It relies heavily on PR's I think but the interesting thing is that it is more like a triangle of balance between the 2 mafias and town with the third party roles actively involved.
