I knew that the Republican party was scum.
I'd like to see this in action. I think the risk/reward aspect is interesting.
Seems like it might give people reasons to not contribute.
EDIT: Why don't you let the town "lynch" someone at the end of the day (said person stays alive and in the game), and they get their alignment revealed?
All players may send one message to any other player each night; the twist being that the mafia can choose one player each night whose message will be sent to
all
players, making the exchange of somewhat sensitive info risky.
Does it sound too horribly broken? Has it been done before?
What if you ran two simultaneous games? One for the newbies, and one for the ICs?
Allow communication on both games, which allows the ICs to actually play, as well as (aside from the above) allows the newbies to watch a game with more experienced players, and learn some of the more subtle things for themselves.

They would (technically) be independent, and communication would be allowed no matter what.
Each day has a deadline anywhere from 3 days to 30. The players don't know when the deadline
is
, though, and there is no warning. Whomever has the most votes at deadline is lynched, in case of a tie, the first person to reach that number of votes in lynched.
Working on it now; it would be a nightless mini with strict deadline rules. The deadlines would depend on the day, although I haven't quite worked it out yet. Based off of the 2007 FIA Formula One World Championship.
All players may make predictions for the game each night (including pre-game). If they get it correct, they get points; the person with the most points on the winning side wins the game.
All players have a certain number of votes called their "breaking point". When they reach this number, they "lose their composure" and receive a PR (Such as: you must chuckle nervously at the end of each post... Eheheheheheheheh...).

It should only be townies then scum would have to come up with a PR and a breaking point so it would make it harder for them
Bad for scum if they forget their breaking point.

Until the end of the day.
Yeah but that makes the game harder for scum see the post restriction games... There hilarious and the scum came up with their own PRs
And also doesn't fit with the idea of people cracking under pressure, as it assumes that the murderers being hunted down will be completely calm when confronted.

It will involve a player with the titular role of Popemaker. It will also allow for the possibility of the creation of Antipopes by an as-yet-unidentified mechanism.
I invented the game and Oman only claimed it once he found out that I already had the idea (the name of which he came up with indepentently much later). However, he's put no description of what the game would be like as of this post, meaning he cannot claim it as per the rules in the first post.
The first post of the large theme queue, you mean?
When I compare
What I have lost with what I have gained,
What I have missed with what attained,
Little room do I find for pride.
I am aware
How many days have been idly spent;
How like an arrow the good intent
Has fallen short or been turned aside.
But who shall dare
To measure loss and gain in this wise?
Defeat may be victory in disguise;
The lowest ebb is the turn of the tide.
After Nervous or Prophecy finish, I will be running
Walk in the Park Mafia - Around the World
. Based off of a mishmash game that I have been running, it is a game of abstract beauty; a pleasing facade hiding a horrific truth. Nothing is as it seems, and everything seems as nothing. More details will be released eventually.
Remember; we're all just victims of our own realities.
Heh, it can be annoying but also makes things more interesting and realistic.
It is not the annoyance. It is the impossibility of balance; games should come down to how the players played, not whether the doc got a lucky roll of the dice.
Looking for another co-mod/co-writer for Walk In the Park Mafia. Must be able to create vivid mental images as well as engaging and impressive puzzles, as well as be willing to do vote counts/other administrative tasks for the actual game (when actual game is run). AIM recommended but not required, PM/IM me for info.
