OKAY GUYS I HAVE AN IDEA AND A CURSORY SEARCH (ALBEIT WITH GOOGLE SINCE THE FORUM'S SEARCH FEATURE IS DISABLED FOR PERFORMANCE) HAS NOT REVEALED PREVIOUS IMPLEMENTATION OR DISCUSSION OF THIS PLAN.

I THINK THIS WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA FOR TWO KEY REASONS. FIRSTLY AS THE PLAYERS IN THE GAME GET HABITUATED TO CAPS LOCK THEY WOULD SAY THINGS THAT SOUND REASONABLE IN THE GAME BUT WOULD BE ABSURD TO PLAYERS LINKED TO ONLY A SINGLE POST (E.G, YELLING 'EVERYONE I THINK THIS PLAYER IS TOWN SO PERHAPS WE SHOULD REDIRECT OUR QUESTIONING.') THIS WOULD MAKE CAPS LOCK MAFIA A COMEDY GOLD MINE.

SECONDLY, ON A MORE SERIOUS NOTE, I BELIEVE IT WOULD CHANGE THE VERY DYNAMIC OF THE GAME. WALLPOSTING AND LOGICAL CASES THAT RELY ON LOOKING COLLECTED AND COHERENT WOULD SUFFER AT THE HANDS OF THIS POSTING RESTRICTION. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT MANY PLAYERS WOULD UNCONSCIOUSLY GRAVITATE TO MORE ONE-LINER POSTS AND SHORT, PITHY RESPONSES. IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO HAVE A PLAYER MIX WITH SOME WHO ALREADY DO THIS AND SOME WHO HAVE A META OF CASES AND WALL POSTING TO SEE WHAT THE TOWN DYNAMIC ENDS UP BEING.

SO YEAH WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

ON FURTHER REVIEW I CANNOT RUN THEME GAMES BECAUSE I HAVEN'T MODDED, BUT IF A SIMPLE POSTING RESTRICTION IS TAME ENOUGH THAT I CAN STILL CALL THIS GAME A 'MINI NORMAL' I CAN GET /IN THE MOD QUEUE RIGHT NOW. IF NOT SOMEONE ELSE WILL NEED TO MOD THIS. OFFICIAL CLARIFICATION WOULD BE AWESOME ON THIS POINT.

Okay, this would have to wait until the Open I'm about to run is done, but would anyone be interested in Abarat mafia? I'd probably include stuff from both books one and two.

combine the who-got-what-role WIFOM with the daytalk within your group, and it becomes a big interactive experience.

random thought: maybe make the setup breakdown one small open, one mini normal, one large normal, one upick? Obviously you'd need special permission to run it like that, but it further differentiates the games and leaves ambiguity for assignments (Is X in this game because they like the setup, or because they like their role...?)

err yeah, there needs to be equal players in each, dunno how I managed to forget that one .-.

Would anyone be interested in a uPick where players choose a title and then write a story, sort of like Canterbury Tales? The story and the title would tie into their overall role and the various stories would be used in modscenes and vote counts and the like. The game would focus on creativity as obviously the more creative you are in writing your story, the more interesting of role you would probably get.

Shit man, that actually sounds ten kinds of awesome. Keep me on the shortlist for this one if it goes anywhere.
