Same as in any mafia game, good old fashioned scum hunting. I don't know about you, but I would prefer a floater get the first HoH as opposed to a member of one of the scum teams. I would be hopeful that our scum hunting gives the HoH some good info as to who they should nominate for eviction and give the rest of us good info as to where we should place our votes on their nominated evictees.

I just figure its easier to pick a person at seemingly random and then watch day 1 unfold, and then scumhunt.

I find the bolded part of your quote to be a very interesting choice of words. Picking at random to get things started has some validity if we are in a RVS. However, picking at "seemingly random" raises the possibility of motive. Motive at this point in the game can only be scummy.

That made me decide to go with him.

You've been the one questioning the reasons people have been voting for. Sens is the one with the most votes, so I voted for him. That way you can't be entirely suspicious of everyone, cause even if its scum hooking up their buddy with HoH, 3 votes or more shows more than just scum support. It gives you something to think about, because as it picks up more support, it shows something...can you see what it is?

I know the first two are same. i was lazy and had the same view points.

I said they could be in two different factions. town is still a faction, so only one needs to be scum.

The fact that he added the bit about did not discuss roles and such is what makes me think one of them has to be scum. If this is their only game together, then discussing roles would never have to be brought up if they were both on the same scum team, so I'm ruling that out. There is the possibility that they are both town though.

Not at all. I don't know them irl and I don't know if they know each other irl and I don't think it really matters if they do know each other irl. If I knew someone in this game irl, I wouldn't jump to put them in power due to our rl association. Now if they presented behavior in this game that made me think they were town and I knew them to be intelligent irl, I might be moved to nominate them for HoH, but not until.

I have to disagree a little bit. I appreciate the defense Crazy, especially as you don't know my true alignment, but I feel Sly did do the right move. I was mulling this over a bit today; because there are two nominations we are considering, yet there is a prefered vote, do we want to introduce a Vote First Vote Second thing where First counts as Two and second one?

Just throwing it out there since even though there are two noms, everyone prefers one pick to another, it should be in some way wieghted and reflected. Otherwise someone that is the second pick of three people looks more suspect then the top pick of two people.

As I said before, I wasn't looking at either of these two for lynching at all. Because of this, I am definitely contemplating using the PoV. One thing that is holding me back, is if the town needs this later, we've lost one use of this. On the other, if scum has it, it doesn't help the town anyways.

I had to sign up for every single game in the sign up thread that was currently open, and not flake from any of them. If I manged to not flake, and finish every game, I win and I get to change his avatar for 2 months. If I lose, he changes mine for two months. Luckily, Ani left lots of loopholes, so I've campaigned for my lynch in every game I'm in that I signed up for.

I didn't like the KMD vote as I got no scum vibe. Sens would have been my vote, as I suspect others' would have been. As has already been suggested, a policy lynch almost.

If so, is there a mechanism to prevent scum teams from sharing answers or otherwise having a big advantage in this (ie. Is each mafia team only allowed to win once...?)

You can guess once per week.
Once a player submits the correct answer that is it there is only one coup d'etat in the game. I will not say who won the coup just that a player has received the coup..
If you see the example on page 1 the scum teams could only communicate once in the game and no more communciation is allowed after that time limit.
