Yeah, you can't even edit Queue posts unless you're a game mod of any sort, IIRC. Can we set Queue forum permissions like Mish Mash permissions, for example?
Also, new issue, why do we have to go through the preview when I hit Submit on a PM the first go? This isn't true of posts, and I don't want it to be true for PMs. :\yabbaguy ~ Winning without actually winning.

Blargh, it is a matter of adding the name first to the PM. I mistakenly thought somehow it was saying "No submitting PMs without previewing first". :\yabbaguy ~ Winning without actually winning.

Lobbyists for <marquee> tags should be shot on sight.
I've done flashing signatures with images. It's depressing that images in sigs are a no-go. Thanks for the extra 95 characters, anyway.yabbaguy ~ Winning without actually winning.

UNVOTE: with the dangling colon is tacky, and I explicitly say in my rulesets "Please don't use Unvote: [playername], it's too easily construed for a vote." I'm down with the customization option if it's possible.
Observation: nearly everyone in my Newbie game is using vote tags over bold tags, despite me clearly listing both options as valid.yabbaguy ~ Winning without actually winning.

No, that's called being a true programmer. Screw user-friendly gadgets like the computer mouse.

^This I agree with, but if Flay's dream of customize-it-the-way-you-want-it comes true, that becomes irrelevant.Friend wrote:I would use vote tags if the VOTE wasn't in all caps.yabbaguy ~ Winning without actually winning.

I've seen a wide spectrum of vote-counting quality. I believe I've yet to blunder on a votecount outside of Marathon Day, as have multiple other mods I've seen, but I've also seen mods bungle a votecount on nearly every attempt, sometimes still screwing it up after they've fixed it. Some mods like CSL absolutely need an additional visual aid (red + bold) or he's sure to miss votes. Everyone's different.
I'm not sure if I would ever adopt a "you must use the vote tag rule", but I'm sure some mods would if the vote tag project continues. And I do also dislike the all-caps VOTE: myself, even if it is asthetic. Is it actually possible with some coding for a forum tag to be individually customizable?
I do use automated prod scripts, but I simply don't trust a machine to count votes, the most important and sometimes subjective part of the game, for me. Since I'm in the camp of people who (almost?) always get it right the first pass, I'm quite fine with bold tags or vote tags. But again, that's me. If you do go through with the vote tag customization project, those who dislike vote tags can just set them to beVote: playernamewithout the caps locking or funky backgrounds, and then everyone's happy.Last edited by yabbaguy on Fri Aug 27, 2010 4:53 am, edited 1 time in total.yabbaguy ~ Winning without actually winning.

Administration up top is NOT newbie oriented as it doesn't provide the useful information. Queue is first, and I think Road to Rome should have a sticky up top saying "How to sign up for a game" that is really a gigantic link to the Newbie Queue along with a concise explanation that signing up directly in threads is not the site's approach.
Separating the Newbie Queue adds confusion moreso - all the Queues are consistently in one forum and that's where they should be - even with the "oopsie daisy - it's over here" link, I've never seen such a system used and I don't think it's efficient.
Mish Mash is not GD or MD, nor should GD be labelled as the supercategory.yabbaguy ~ Winning without actually winning.
