shaft.ed wrote:You can no longer type in the page number you want to in a text box at the top or bottom of each thread. Instead you have to go by clicking through 3 page incriments. Kinda of a pain in long games, especially with the ISO function down.

This feature is default so I'm not sure why it was removed. Normally you could click the "X posts" next to the pagination area and it would bring up a javascript box where you could enter the page number to go to.

Mr Flay wrote:Post Numbers - I haven't ported it over yet, but I have at least two examples to work from. Estimated completion: 6/20.
And there's a phpBB MOD already made for that. I used it on my own board so I know it works. I just need to find where it is and I'll give you the link.

EDIT: Found it: here. It begins at #1, instead of #0 like before, so that may screw with some cases that are already written up in current and previous games. But that shouldn't be difficult to change from starting at #1 to #0.

EDIT 2: oh, and here's a screenshot of some person that uses it on their own board: here. (it's in spanish in that image, but the MOD is in english)

Papa Zito wrote:Didn't the old forum have a dropdown for page numbers? I seem to remember in-thread navigation being easier.
There is a default phpBB one as well if I recall correctly. Must have been removed for some reason.
xRECKONERx wrote:Yeah, post numbers & iso search are the top two wants right now.
And both are being worked on.

Porochaz wrote:Why does a preview have to be automatic? Surely it should be an option which we already have. It was a pain in the ass, especially during marathon days. I would prefer not to have to be forced to view a preview every time I use a full post. Or am I misreading what is being asked?
You know the Preview button next to the "Submit" and "Save" buttons on the posting screen? They want that moved onto the quick reply. The issue is when you hit "Full Editor" on the quick reply, it opens the posting screen without previewing your post.

I think you'll have to send it separately in order for that to happen.

Troll would love to have that back if possible.

-Zorblag R`Lyeh
Interesting, I wouldn't have thought anybody was using that. I commented out the Views Count code to lower our DB hits and because it seemed useless for our forum (most places that love that are SEO-optimization/commercial sites, popularity contests, etc. I think I'd like to use that space for thread starter, eventually, but if lots of people miss it I don't mind restoring it.
I remember seeing a forum that displayed thread views (or maybe thread replies, idk), but when you clicked the number it showed you a list of who had posted in that thread and how many times. I think that would be handy to quickly get a game post count without having to look at each player in iso.
I believe that that's a built in feature of the vBulletin forum software. I have actually considered adding that to my View in Isolation MOD since it is a related feature. I agree that it would be handy. Good idea.

Testing... EDIT: as it turns out, that is correct. This post did not increase my post count.

Here's another wish to add to the list: Gender icons. Or even if the icons aren't easy to implement (although I think there's a MOD for it), adding a custom profile field in the ACP called "Gender" with a dropdown box with three options (Not Specified, Male, Female) takes about 20 seconds to add. It is quite useful to be honest when you're in a game with other people that you don't know.

That's a feature of vBulletin. I was the one that wrote the View posts in Isolation MOD for phpBB, and I am considering adding the feature you just mentioned into it in later versions, since it is related (if you click on the reply count, it shows the members. Then you can click on the member's username or maybe just the member's reply count, and it takes you to the thread with that member in ISO). Anyway, such a feature has not been begun yet, but it is on my to do list.

EDIT: Actually it didn't take long to do. Mr. Flay or mith, if you want this feature added, I can send you the instructions for adding it here.

Papa Zito wrote:In the bottom bit where it says PM email www AIM etc it used to have a link to the user's wiki page. Unless I'm remembering wrong.
Yeah, it used to be there but it hasn't been added back yet. You can still type in a direct URL (e.g. mafiascum.net/wiki/index.php?title=username) or do a search on the wiki itself. I'm sure Mr. Flay will get around to adding a link back there eventually.
