I was also set to Mountain rather than Pacific DST; I corrected and didn't think enough of it to mention it (DST is a worthless thing in the first place, so I just... never mind).
I also use (if that's the proper word) the View Count thing. Not the end of the world if it's not brought back, though.- Nobody Special

I want to thank you (again) for everything you've done, and I know these things take time; I'm curious whether you have updated ETAs for these two things:
Thanks again for everything!Mr. Flay wrote:- Post Numbers- I haven't ported it over yet, but I have at least two examples to work from.Estimated completion: 6/21.
- mafSepia, mafTigers- I know, I know, it's just lower priority than some of the other crisis items. There's also a few more icons in mafSilver to upload, but they're basically finished.Estimated completion: 6/24?

In the first post of this game, there are links to player profiles that were formed prior to the migration. They're broken now. (You get that wonderful "a ninja stole this page" 404.)
I mention this here because I haven't seen the profile link bug mentioned and thought it perhaps worthy. If it's something to be fixed instance-by-instance, feel free to ignore.- Nobody Special

@Mr. Flay: Two issues.
1) I cannot see a way to delete M=W's recent post. I tried to edit it, thinking there was a Delete button on the Edit screen, but no. (And when I tried to Save Edit with a blank message, I got the "Too Few Characters" error message.)
2) The thread in question was created before the move, and was not updated since the move, and it did not show up in my egosearch; I had to go into MishMash and there it was. Odd.- Nobody Special

The weirdest thing -- I posted a test post just now, and it has the delete button; my older (pre-move) posts in that same thread do not. But none of the other posts in that thread have delete buttons, so.- Nobody Special

I unlocked the thread and tried to delete M=W's test post; when I clicked the delete button, I get this:Mr. Flay wrote:Okay, implemented a possible fix for not being able to delete posts in your game threads. Give it a try and see what you discover.
So, while I have a delete button on every post in that thread [which I started], I can't actually delete any. (In other MishMash threads that I did not start, there is no delete button on each post.)Sorry but you can only delete your own posts.- Nobody Special

Also, since the title of the thread is at least partially "wish list":
1) I would like to be able to remove threads from my egosearch. (Likely impossible. But useful for games that one replaces out of and threads that one no longer wishes to read, but once posted in.)
2) It would be über-cool to be able to set thread icons individually. My thinking is that I still read games that I'm dead in, but I want a reminder that I shouldn't post in them. If I could change the thread icon for my own view, this would help. (Also, likely impossible. But isn't that what wishes are for?)
ETA:
3) Will there ever be iso search for the archives?- Nobody Special

To the left of the page-number boxes, there is a link that says "Page 13 of 13" -- click that and you get a popup box that allows you to enter a page number to jump to.

VOTE: Mr. Flay (I was testing.)Mr. Flay wrote:Aliases are easy.I'll add VOTE: now, and I guess UNVOTE: though I don't love it. [un] ?Actually, I need to think a bit more about how that would interact with planned expansions for the vote tag.
Also, all you have to do is type their name and hit the button on the editor. Isn't that shorter (unless you're in Quick Reply)?
Actually, that's backwards. You have to click the Vote button first, then type the name.
But I never use it, as it's just muscle memory now to type [ b]Vote: xxx[ /b].- Nobody Special

Is it just me, or is a post's text blacker (darker, if you will) the first time you see it after you've posted? If not, my eyes are playing serious tricks on me.
Also, when you're in iso, and click to go back to the entire thread, the post you clicked from is darker.
Please tell me I'm not the only one seeing this.- Nobody Special

Not sure what you mean by bg 1 and bg2 -- but my second question involves seeing a thread with one player in iso (nothing to do with a reply page) and then clicking an iso post's post# link to go to the post in context. After clicking, the post you clicked form is darker text. I know that's not clear, but it's the best I can get right now.- Nobody Special

Well, I'm not quite sure how I've never heard of Firebug, but. Now life will be easier. (I see what you mean by bg1 and bg2, now.)

I meant actually in the jump thing, but I can see how that may not work with it not being a forum.
Can it be put centered in between the jump bar and "< Return to xxx"? Or perhaps in the footer (probably the wrong term) with Board Index|Subscribe link|Bookmark link ?

My apologies, I got threads confused. The thread that was wonky is the Post-conversion FAQ thread (the global announcement thread). This thread never had that problem. (Therefore, the global-sticky thread still has the problem. I just clicked in it, and realized my mistake.)Nobody Special wrote:Of note: Today, for the first time (since the move?) I clicked on the unread icon for this thread and it took me to the first unread post rather than the top of the current page.
ETA: Arrgh. The quote above is unclear; I always use the unread icon button; what "for the first time" refers to is the place to which my browser took me, but then, the point is moot now anyway. (I just don't want anyone to think I just discovered the unread icon. I use it constantly.)- Nobody Special

I have since learned that this is (somehow) a Private Label version of IE; so that explains that.
And yes, I'm going to be running txtMafia, and it would be useful to turn off emoticons so that they show asrather than -- for ease of character-counting, as well as to preserve txt-like flavor for the game. No big deal if it can't easily be done, though.Code: Select all

The bolded part: I'm sure you meant something else, as what I bolded is precisely what I want.Mr. Flay wrote:It would be non-trivial, I fear.
As a game mod, you SHOULD be able to edit any posts where people forget anddisable emoticons in that thread, though, if that helps. Just put it in big letters in your rules and you should be fine.
But since it's non-trivial, it's moot. I'll just work around it.- Nobody Special

I think DST broke my settings. Testing time on this post.
EDIT: It seems okay now; I only noticed it due to "sent" times on Role PMs.
(For those having issues: In Board Preferences, there's a button to enable/disable DST. It's handled differently on other BB systems, and I think this way is clunky butI am grateful to mith for everything he has given us.)- Nobody Special
