1 new message

The thing next to user control panel keeps telling me I have 1 new message when I dont. It's annoying.

I get that too. Did you send yourself a PM and then delete it unread, by chance?

EDIT: I just send myself a PM and it didn't even come up in my inbox and now my thing reads 2 new messages *facepalm*

That's what caused it for me. Did you notice anything when it started doing it to you?

No. It just came up with 2 new PM's when i logged in earlier (which I did have), I read them both - I didn't reply - but when i went out of my inbox it was saying I hadn't read one.

EDIT: logging out then logging back in didn't help, neither did clearing cookies.

I'll look into some sort of counter recalculator, the forum doesn't seem to have one for that yet.

To be clear, is this happening in the UCP, or in the bar in the site header? Mine is in the UCP, but it sounds like yours is up top.

mine was between UCP and view all posts.

I think i've solved it though. I noticed the inbox was telling me it had some PM's on hold cause I didn't have enough room or something. So I deleted a few posts, clicked a link saying 'release messages on hold' and it worked.

Also, I'm not getting the popup for new PM's any more.

I relied on that thing before, now I actually have to check

Check UCP>Board Preferences. There should be an option for Popups.

I think it was my browser blocking the popups and just not telling me. I'll find out today and report back to you.
