QFT. ShadoWolf is acting fairly stupidly but I'm not sure it's scummy. My initial reaction was just confused newb but this game wasn't easy to get into, is he a Hydra under a new account or what's the deal there?Scott Brosius wrote:
You "certainly" don't want to be accused of doing that this game? Why are you insinuating that in this game its more important for you to not appear as if you are lurking?ShadoWolf wrote:
No, not at all, I did it because in previous threads I've been in I've had a tendency to lurk, and I certainly didn't want to be accused of doing that in this game. It appears to have shown that I'm in this game anyway, even if now many people suspect me.Lady Lambdadelta wrote:So essentially, you threw out an NL to passively lurk, under the cover of "waiting to find a scum read"?

However, this is very true. As there's already enough pressure on ShadoWolf I'm going to VOTE: Elli until new information arises.TwoHeadedBoy wrote: Curious as to why Shado's being jumped on, but no one seemed to bat an eye at Elli. Yes, Shado's reasoning for it was crap (so I completely understand the wagon on him), but a vote for NL is still bad. I'd expect at leastsomecomments on Elli, but no one has brought it up yet. I'm really not a fan of Exe's play throughout this whole game, he's been pretty flippant and managed to say stuff without contributing which is the ultimate scumtell to me. I'm not the first person to bring this up but he still hasn't given a real response so I'm going to go ahead and VOTE: Exe. I'm still looking at Ellibereth but at this moment I see his move as more FOS-worthy whereas exe is being more straight-up scummy. If P then Q.

My vote for ellibereth rather than shado was because I found it weird that two players did the same thing and one got attacked for it. I wasn't attempting to intentionally not put pressure on shado, I just thought ellibereth deserved some too since he did the same thing.
I've seen people pull out this argument several times and to me it just reeks of trying to give yourself permission to be scummy which understandably is not really permissible.Exe wrote: I see no reason why wagoning the people I find scummy is anti-town.If P then Q.

Well bread-crumbing is the act of leaving subtle hints that you have a certain role so that if you're forced to claim you can bring them up and have a better case. Fake bread-crumbing is doing this for a role you don't actually have, i.e. mafia trying to fake-claim something. The bottom line is, if fate just likes poetry then why couldn't (s)he have just said that and posted in poetry? (S)he was trying to fool us into actually believing (s)he had a post-restriction and there must be a reason for it. There aren't a lot of town reasons one would do that.TwoHeadedBoy wrote: @theman: Fake bread-crumbing? I don't understand. Elaborate, please.

QFT. This is quite the burn. Good catch Scott, I totally read right over that.Scott Brosius wrote:
I know the front page has that role. You said the bolded above however. Which means you didn't read the front page, yet you knew about that scum role. I find that interesting.Mafuyu wrote: andMafuyu's not paid enough attention in the pregame to note if any were dayvigs(though Day Poisoner looks to be similar). If it is an autoclear, Mafuyu would be confused as to why he would do so, seeing as how the odds are technically unfavorable and the results wouldn't necessarily provide any correlations, what with Fate being Fate.
If a time constraint is his problem then perhaps not posting in elaborate poetry, stories and illustrations would be a good cure. I'm for a fate or CCP shot. CCP's entire explanation was 'bad joke'. People that try to excuse scummy behaviour rather than explaining it get triple scum points.CupcakePanda wrote: And I am serious that you are not going to shoot Fate. Just because you have a gun doesn't mean that you can up and shoot someone for being silly, stupid, or both. I personally know that Fate is playing at the very minimum 4 games at the moment, and probably more I don't know about. At the moment, I have no reason to suspect Fate simply for not posting in this topic other than poems, and you have no basis to shoot him over it.If P then Q.

The fact that SB had to PM the mod to use the kill is very suspicious to me. Day-vigs generally post in-thread whereas it seems more likely that a mafia assassin or mafia day poisoner would have to PM the mod in the interest of allowing that player to keep their kill private if they wanted to. Does no one else see it this way? I also don't know why he would say he was going to vig fate and then change it at the last minute. The 'apply pressure' excuse is lame as all hell, why not just threaten? Why go so far as to say you've basically decided and then back out with no (visible) input? It's highly suspicious to me.

I think the role is designed for the scum to post their kill in-thread and pretend that's what did it while PM'ing the mod behind the scenes. I think scott got sloppy about it.TwoHeadedBoy wrote:
I believe that Parama is a competent enough moderator to know that such a glaring difference between similar roles would most likely break the game.themanhimself wrote:I'm just saying when a townie is a day-vig, they post in-thread. When scum is an assassin, they PM the mod.

Well... that wagon was useless. Faterage was sadly missing as well.
I think ShadoWolf has the wool pulled over everyone's eyes who think he's acting frustrated town. It's not as if this has been going on for a huge amount of time. That would be the quickest snap ever... and his emotions are kept in check several times through his crisis. I know we are multiple personalities and all, but it seems a bit of an act to me.

That's what I'm asking, you say Beefster is one of the two scummiest people and then asked my opinion of him. Now I want to know your opinion of him, besides he's one of the two scummiest players. Why do you believe that? I'm only asking because Beefster has become a hot topic and I haven't really seen anything of note. I figure you must have a good reason so I'm going to see what you have to say and then make up my mind about the whole thing.Lateralus22 wrote:What case?If P then Q.

I said I wasn't concrete because I wasn't. CCP somehow is attacking me for agreeing with me because I said I wasn't concrete under the belief that you don't get concrete on D1, you do the best you can. But beefster majorly slipped by not catching the error in the case against him and again when he responded to me bringing it up. VOTE: Beefster since it's not a hammerIf P then Q.

Sorry I haven't posted, my schedule has been crazy.
Maybe I didn't clarify well, when I said I didn't have anything concrete I didn't mean I didn't find him to be scum. I just don't think you get anything concrete on D1. D2 and D3 you get cop investigations, night-kills, voting patterns, etc. Right now we have to go on less concrete stuff.Tuniogen wrote:Uh why are you willing to hammer?
I didn't think you were sure.
Explain pls.
To me, the slip was not reading the case against himself. That's like admitting that it doesn't matter whether you're acting scummy. To me it's clearly indicative that he's scum who knows he's guilty and so didn't even bother reading what people said about him.CupcakePanda wrote:So, what is this slip exactly?
Because I did not see the beefster case.
Again, I guess I wasn't clear enough. I thought he was scum from the moment I noticed the inconsistency. The only reason I didn't vote him in that post was that I had just gotten out of cab and walked into work (I'm a night host at a restaurant and it snowed a lot last night).Llamarble wrote:themanhimself wrote:I can't actually. I don't see enough to concretely say he's scum but for god's sake if his conscience is so guilty that he doesn't disputefactually incorrectcases about himself that has to mean something, right?
What?themanhimself wrote:Perfectly willing to hammer here, just lemme know when we're ready. I just got off work and I'm exhausted, expect a biting response tomorrow
He doesn't think a whole lot of the cases against Beefster, then suddenly is willing to hammer him because Beefster didn't realize an inconsistency and therefore he has a guilty conscience??
TMH didn't seem that nutty in my other games with him.
Though I guess he did claim mason as a VT in another game (still going but we're both dead)...
Yes, getting all the millerclaims before bedtime would be wise.
Why would I hammer when we have, like, two weeks left until the deadline? It's pretty obvious to me that beefster should be our lynch and probably will be so what's the harm in discussing more? Then we go into D2 with more information which helps town-odds. I don't know that this is scummy, but it's at least unhelpful.TwoHeadedBoy wrote:themanhimself wrote:Perfectly willing to hammer here, just lemme know when we're ready.FoS tmh

I kind of want to switch to you now for A) asking for confirmation from the town to hammer and B) voting BECAUSE it's not a hammer (both relevant to Caution Is A Scumtell which I am a proud supporter of), but I'll have to talk with my other head about this and he just went to bed, so yeah. All in all, aGQPoS for tmh.

1. Maybe it's not technically hunting for scum but wouldn't you say finding errors in cases against you is at least helpful? If you're town then that's a pro-town move on my part so why call me out on it? I think this is another scum slip. I really get the general sense from beefster's posts that he knows on the inside that he's scum and isn't quite good enough to hide it.Beefster wrote:1. TMH has made plenty of valid points, but he isn't really scumhunting. I hadn't thought much of it before because it was relevant content. Mostly a nulltell, leaning slightly scum on him.
2. I QFT'd because I knew some of your crap arguments would naturally resolve themselves as crap. I don't really see how your arguments are indicative of me being scum. They're all nulltells in my book. And the fact that you're using nulltells to pin down scum really makes me suspicious of you.
Tuesdays are pretty busy for me.Lateralus22 wrote:Hey, didn't Beefster want to interrogate me or something? What happened to that?
