I burnt myself out in a couple games - thanks so much for the advice Chamber, I felt like I was doing well but then my laptop died on me (not via the battery, which has me freaking out) and I jus didn't have he heart to start the game up after having to force quit the frozen server. I imagine by the time I got back in I would've been zero help anyway...

apparently you can't get to the menu I used unless you're in-game
so just look around within the "Gameplay", "Chat", or etc. menus before minions spawn

I thought I might be able to get to it via spectating too, but no dice

but I caught this match - was fun to watch, their camera AI/spectating engine is awesome

dude, League or StarCraft 2 or a bunch of other games...I don't play them because I want try-hards breathing down every word I say about them, I play to fucking play. I know for a fact I'm not the worst out there but even if I was I play when I enjoy it and I quit for the night after 1 game if I don't and go play something consistently fun like Minecraft or CivV

IMO, U.R.F. had what most of the rest of League is missing: an exciting, positive, pressure-free, toxicity-free (e.g.

FUN

) environment. Every single game mode I've played, with the exception of Co-Op vs. AI Dominion, has had toxic players, annoying fuckos, stupid teamcomps, and everything that comes with those...often enough to make U.R.F. stand out by comparison. U.R.F. was more enjoyable than any other game mode ever could be, simply because of its fun-value. That, and it was an enjoyable way to see "oh this is how this champ would work" kit-wise while not having to worry about stupid mana or cooldowns until later on in the learning process.

But yeah, it seems lame to keep Dominion or ARAM and keep reviving certain game modes in new ways (e.g. All For One) if they're not gonna do the same for all of them. If they hadn't removed U.R.F. I would play it more than any other gamemode, easily. It's just more fun.

As soon as the enemy team realizes what's happening, with good warding and timing they can shut it down pretty hard - but I do think that's how Bot games should be played more often. People sometimes rage at me when I call jungler in a bot game, saying "herpderp you should go top" but really if you're thinking economically and about the different revenue sources per player per game (hint: there're only 4) it's useful to KNOW you have the entire other jungle that you can use if you want to. Not sure why people don't more often but there you go.

I meant more what Dayne said; not so much "how long can I sustain vs. / can I duel this guy" but "k so can I do this with her this and then that OK that's cool so that would work similarly without mana and the CD would be longer but this could still work etc." while being in a much less competitive environment mostly filled with people who're "pressing buttons" just as much as I was.

Offended is the wrong word. But it's just that...A blindfolded toddler can beat bots...It's not really fun at all and doesn't require any strategy at all to win. I think about a year ago or more, me nikanor,ghostfrog, andrius and someone else, beat intermediate bots by proxying inside the enemy base. Also i misunderstood you, I thought you were calling for ganks not calling a role. I'd rage at you for needing a gank against bots too, but that's not the case. Butyeah there isn't really any reason to eh "play right" in a bot game, it's much more time effective to go 5 mid and shove the nexus for your win of the day. Didn't see this - yeah I know, in case you guys hadn't noticed I go for "fun" over "mentally challenging" or "requiring OODLES OF SKILLZ" when it comes to gaming so I know bots are easy to beat but it's still fun for me to think through how to beat things even if it's easy. I play more bots because the other players are the worst thing about League of Legends and I play bots because the other people I play with either prefer bots or don't mind playing bots themselves.

I'm also not amazingly good at the game but reread this post and you'll understand why I don't care.

If you look on the map, the penta was me entering teamfight and chasing Thresh (who was getting away with a sliver after getting the last hit on Nid) and Flashing to secure just over the enemy Red. They were retreating so I chased down Lee / Rengar / Cait with Voli and Morg over the top of the terrain just east of enemy Red - killed Lee / Rengar with Chompers (E) + Zap (W) + AAs. Khazix had chased Vel out of the teamfight and as he was passing top inhib I got into their base after Cait - I ulted her just past mid inhib and then Zapped Vel. "Pentakill!"

Other common ADCs have actual escapes: Ez Shift, Cait Net, Luc Dash, Trist Jump, Vayne Tumble... Jinx is immobile compared to those choices.

If you're looking for

safe

mobility, Jinx is not a good option.

When the "range+AoE+AD" you guys are talking about is immune to the same "AS steroid", and when the "low CDs" are followed very quickly by mana problems if utilized to full potential, and when the "vision-giving, slowing poke" is a long-range but not champion-specific and rather slow skill-shot... I disagree she's OP. I think that's pretty damn balanced.

When I was doing Blinds or just when I didn't pick him, I'd often see people go for DS they never should've, or I'd see a completely missed Flay opportunity, and it just reinforces what people've said before about Thresh, I think: he's designed to be

support, and some even attest that his utility is on a tier where if it did no damage it would still be of use, but all that presence and utility doesn't mean tons if you can't use it well - the play spotlight recently that featured him was fun for me to watch for no better reason than to see a seemingly God-Tier Thresh pull off some of the things I have fun thinking about when you think about the kit of a champ you've played a good amount with.

Klaz, Ani, ns, and somebody I soloQed with in Ranked tried a SUPERtroll Team Builder last night and got smashed for our efforts. I was on ADC Thresh, Klaz was on (AP) Support Gangplank, ns was jungling with Annie, the Ranked friend went top on Anivia... and Ani took Talon mid, but he's lame because mainstream things are stupid.

Our match-ups were Jinx/Taric bot, Ahri mid, Shen top, and Kha'zix jungle.

We all lost lane handily; only Ani had more than 1 Kill.

If you're where you are in Ranked you're there for a reason. You don't control anything; you're no better than the average person you'll meet up with. If you were you wouldn't be there. I'm in Silver II and I know why I'm there and it's not because I belong there: I happened to do ok in my placement matches

I totally annihilated my second-to-last game and carried everybody so hard that in my next match I was out of my league (pun intended) and my whole team got carried to a win by a smurf.

That doesn't happen to most, and definitely doesn't usually happen the other way around. Why try to break the meta when an inexorable amount of people who are better than you are telling you you're wrong?

tl;dr

If you're saying you only do something because it works in low ELO, that invalidates your opinion in two ways: 1) if it worked as well or as consistently as you thought it wouldn't just be something for low ELO, and 2) you're in low ELO. The people who figure out what works and what doesn't are

Summoner Icons are the little icons that go next to your name in the loading screen and that appear on your profile. Team Builder is a game mode where people choose their position and role before joining other people who fit into what they didn't choose, thus you get a team of people who either want to play or are good at the position and role they chose, and everybody is happier, in theory. Team Builder Icons are Summoner Icons obtained by playing different roles in Team Builder - one each for the 6 roles: Tank Fighter Assassin Marksman Mage Support
