Here's where he wants to back out. "5 words or less" roughly translate to me that Reck wants to put up a lazy front, and attempts to dumb down the cases against Nikanor. Otherwise, he won't agree to it and therefore won't lynch his partner in crime.

Once more, Reck didn't want to offer his full understanding to why Nik was being lynched. Assessing it as "apathetic" is such a brutal term to use, and I'm sure it was this kind of extremity he hoped would discredit the wagon enough. Oh, and then there's calling Fate to arms because he knows how good of a voice Fate would be to have in his back pocket. Very much trying to appeal to Fate's desire to lynch ABR - especially the use of big letters.

I can't help but laugh every time I go over this post. I hammered Nik after noticing he botched his claim - as did Fate - but Reck is oblivious to it, I'm guessing. The exaggerated use of intensity is supposed to get across to everyone how strongly Reck believed Nik was a mislynch, even going far enough to label myself as scum because he's supposed to have Nik down as town (psychology 101). It's the unwarranted amount of certainty behind Reck's words that don't sit well with me. Why not wait for Nik to flip town before making these assumptions? I have a feeling it's because, again, Reck needs to drive it hard that he wasn't voting Nik because he had him as town, without a doubt.
