Regardless, Seraphim, never seen a setup like this before, and I come from an environment (GameFAQs Contest Board) where more than one game has been completely and utterly broken by a D1 massclaim. When I was looking at the suggestion, I felt that locking Scum into claims would have been beneficial. In hindsight it wouldn't, but look at the timing, that was less than 10 minutes time passing in the middle of the day. I didn't exactly sit down and analyse the entirety of the proposal, just gave my initial reaction.

Also, you have to give Fate some credit there. He did just completely shut your argument down there.

Because I've never (To my knowledge) played with him before, I had a null-scum read on him because he seemed to be doing everything to avoid the leading wagon (Maruchan), and his Scummy for "Best Town Performance" meant he'd be a very valuable asset as a Confirmed Townie.

He claimed TRACKER.

As in, not watcher. The fact I was there investigating him to confirm him one way or the other does not = a guilty. A Townie who'd be useful as Confirmed is also going to be an attractive target for Scum by default.

"I can't understand the concept of someone being both an attractive target to Confirm as Town, and a NK target as Scum, therefore I'll keep claiming Occam's in the hope that I can claim an honest mistake tomorrow!"

PEdit: Sera, the Dayvig is dead. I was doing that, as I've stated repeatedly, to see who would hop off the Nocmen wagon when opportunity arose. You can't do that after you confirm someone.

Sera, with the speed of the wagon built on him, I think Town. I can't see a scum being taken up that fast, with noone actually making a case. There's at least a couple of scum on that wagon.

And Implosion, you're dismissing a claim offhand because you can't be arsed thinking through the nature of your role. You know that if you'd told me to claim without revealing your role, you'd have gotten better information, and now you're trying to cover up the fact you fucked up by waiting for the quicklynch.

Telling someone to, as you so crudely put it, "claim or die" would force someone to have to take a guess whether it was a Tracker, Watcher or Role-Cop. The latter two being potentially disasterous for a Scum who then fake-claims a role.

And no, on 333 you wildly speculated about motives, which I've responded to. You're basing your entire case on saying that a "Gunsmith wouldn't do that".

Here's the thing. Some of us think before typing, and know how to bait Scum. You're presuming that I would reveal everything immediately, which frankly I see no gain in, given the alternative courses of action open.

Sera: Because I still wanted an answer to my question to the Nocmen wagon at large. Placing a vote would then take some focus away from that, and in my eyes, would be counterproductive to trying to back Scum into a mistake.

Role Cop could easily do so, especially if they only won that role. Scum are liable to lie about roles if they can, simply to avoid having to claim results that could be used to assist a buddy later in the game.
