You wake up, feeling groggy. You're trying to remember what happened to you, but the last day is just a blur.

You look around, and discover that you're in your own bed. That's something, at least, but you have no idea how you got there.

Suddenly, you sit bolt upright. The love of your life! Where have they gone? Why on earth aren't they right here with you? You have to find them. You know you could never live without them.

Someone must have drugged you, because it's all you can do to stay awake as you pull on some clothes, stumble out of the front door - and stop dead in your tracks when you see what has happened to your home...

1) My decision is final in all situations. However, I'm not a god - if I make a mistake, please PM me.

2) Play to win, play to have fun, and respect the other players. This means NO personal attacks.

4) Votes and Unvotes should use the proper voting tags, and be at the start of a line. Unvoting is nice, but not mandatory.

5) Lynches require at least 51% of the total votes. A No Lynch requires a least 50% of the total votes. Once a hammer vote is placed, the person who has been hammered is dead, and may not post. Everyone else may continue discussion until I lock the thread. If the deadline is reached without a hammer, there will be No Lynch.

6) When you die, you are dead. Dead people can't talk. Dead people can't post, or use their QTs. Dead people don't say "bah". Dead people are, however, provided with a Dead Thread, in which spoilers are outlawed.

7) Do not edit posts. Do not delete posts. Do not use invisible text. Do not use small text. Do not use colours which are hard to read against the forum background. No not use BBCode to conceal messages of any kind. Do not use cryptography. Do not impersonate the mod. Do not fake mod edits to your posts.

8) Day 1 will have a 3-week deadline. All others Day phases will have 2-week deadlines. Day phases will end early if a lynch is reached.

9) Votecounts will be posted at least once every 24 hours.

10) Do not discuss, mention, or link to this game outside this thread unless your Role PM specifically says otherwise.

11) Do not quote private communications from me or from other players, whether by PM or in a QT, whether real or faked. Do not link to any QTs you may have access to.

12) Links to all game-related QTs will be posted after the game has ended.

13) Players will be prodded after 72 hours of not posting, or after 48 hours if a player requests a prod. Anyone who would require a three prods will be replaced. If you will be away for more than 48 hours, declare V/LA in this thread.

14) I may add, remove, or modify rules at any point. I may replace, modkill, or blacklist players at any point, for any reason. Modkills may or may not end the day, at my discretion.

With 7 out of 8 confirms, the game begins!

pinkfloyd has 72 hours to post, or he will be replaced.

...your face is a mask of horror as you look around the village. It's a scene of destruction. Most of the buildings are burnt out completely, and the few that aren't are badly damaged. So many people must have died. So many people...

Only a single row of houses remain untouched. Looking around, you see that a few more survivors have gathered in the street. Your heart leaps when you see your love, clearly shaken, but unhurt.

You're starting to feel faint again, as one of them rushes over to meet you.

"Are you alright? Are you hurt? Oh, my god..."

As you keel over, the world goes dark, and the last thing you see is somebody's face looking down at you...

When you wake again, you're lying on a sofa. The same person who spoke to you before notices that your eyes are open.

"Hey there", he says. "Looks like you've had a rough time. You're lucky to be with us, after that". He's pointing at your head, and from pain as you touch it, you realise you've taken a serious beating - but you still can't remember anything. "How did this happen?", you ask.

"Looks like someone started a fire. There's some pretty nasty characters around here, and we're miles from anywhere that could help us. The phone lines got cut, too.

"We're all trying to survive now, but you can bet there's some of the guys who did this among us. We've got to weed them out, before it's too late..."

The day has been a blur of activity, accusation, and argument. You're gathered in the street, now. Someone has put up some gallows. As if the day wasn't bad enough...

As the hours pass, you know that you have to fight back, and you eventually decide that Isa must guilty.

"He

must

be one of them arsonist scum!", pinkfloyd cries. "He'd see us all dead if he could!"

"Kill me then!", screams Isa, "if you really think it was me!"

"Thanks, I think we will", says uncledaphne.

So you drag him forward to the gallows. He doesn't resist much, so you string him up and drop the trapdoor. His neck snaps cleanly in two.

You quickly search his pockets; a pencil, a packet of tissues, a train ticket, and some coins.

"Someone, check his house", calls Chaotic Neutrality.

But you can't find anything unusual - no guns, no conveniently located mobile phones with incriminating texts on them, no Mafia business cards. Oops.

As you glumly wander back into the street, you notice someone else is missing...

"Where's nintendoaddict1?", asks Robotnick2.

"He was here a moment ago...", says André.

After a short search, you find him in his house. Lying on the kitchen floor. With a bread knife sticking out of his stomach, and a growing pool of blood surrounding him.

Someone's found an old office block for you all to stay in for the days, which only got singed in the fire. Well, it's better than standing around in the cold all day.

After a long day sitting around in the office block, drinking coffee from a miraculously unharmed dispenser, you start to realize that someone in particular isn't helping you find the bad guys.

"He's the scum! Lynch him!", said André, pointing a threatening finger.

Maxous quickly joined in, saying "Yeah! What's Uncle Daphne done to help? Who's uncle is he, anyway? He must by lying!"

Robotnick eventually relented and, despite a deep love for Daphne, Chaotic Neutrality knew there was no other way.

You all strung him up from a ceiling fan and turned it on. He made a horrible screeching sound, and a few minutes later, his head ripped right off his shoulders.

"Eeeew!", exclaimed pinkfloyd.

You quickly check his pockets, and you're all relieved to find an old handgun and a book called 'Arson for Dummies'.

As the Day passed, you slowly realised the truth. Despite his love, Robotnick2 knew that pinkfloyd must be the enemy. André agreed, but Maxous held back for some reason...

But before long, pinkfloyd admitted it. He was the murderer among you.

He didn't even struggle as you all tied him down and cut his head off with a rusty cheese knife.

You check through his pockets...

And find a wallet, a bus ticket, and a pack of gum. Nothing suspicious.

My thoughts on this game,

I think town should have pushed for a massclaim on Day 1. In a Nightless game, there's no harm to that information being public, and it may have helped make a better choice of D1 lynch.

Personally, if I was playing, I think I would have tried to get uncledaphne lynched on Day 1.

On the other hand, André played a great game, and the fact that Maxous was pretty townish too means I'm not surprised scum won this.

pinkfloyd was definitely the easy LyLo lynch here (the alleged "scumslip" didn't help), but André did a good enough job off putting of his vote to avoid suspicion.

Ultimately if I'd been playing (say, in Maxous' position), and I didn't think pinkfloyd was scum, I probably would have voted for Robotnick, with the same net result.

pinkfloyd's self-hammer really finished the town. I'm not sure why he would move his vote from André (who he claims to have been sure was scum).

Maxous: if pinkfloyd had kept his vote on André, who do you think you would have voted for?

Apathy = scum? Good to know.

One final observation: I was surprised at how fast and short this was. I knew it would only be 2/3 phases long, but I didn't really notice that smaller games have shorter Days. I suppose it's because of the low lynch requirements - it's always going to take ages for 10+ people to agree on a lynch, but when it's 5 at most the game moves along much faster. It's why I'll be modding a 13p C9++ next, if Hooopla lets me.
