May not be right spot for this... but looking at the setup it needs to be amended so that the gov cant self-target. It basically makes it an innocent child kingmaker. When this is probably town sided to start scum is going to need to at least be able to counter that.

Can you explain? If the gov was hammered on day 1 well something went strange (since I doubt mafia would cc it). Only day a situation where the gov would be plausibly lynched is in lylo or mylo with two gov claims (in which case cc is a horrible idea in 3p and is useless in 5p if a mass claim has already happened). A situation where the gov would ever be lynched in the first place would be pretty rare so not being able to self-target would be a very minimal change imo.

Gov cant be countered because correct move becomes "okay lynch me" and then use power to stop the self lynch take down whoever countered you, so its basically a role that scum are forced to kill. Removing self-target abilities and it becomes something that scum can get into a 1v1 against, while theoretically a D1 claim may be best (high 50% town win chance at first glance) its just something that I dont like and think overpowers town. Its already a 7P setup with two guarenteed roles, thats not the easiest spot in the world for scum to be in because that eats two of three max NKs if they arent countering.

Why? For a scum team, is the MAFIA SECRETARY too risky of a role?

Its the whole lynchpin arguement. When a game centers around a role too heavily, it becomes less fun because who gets that EXACT role tend to be the main factor in who wins. As scum, if you have an idiot partner who has that role and screws up horribly first couple pages, well there goes your game.

Nothing is wrong with a role or concept being a games center, but when it has that big of a ripple effect when it dies its offputting to some.

Assuming the only change with the set up is the one mentioned before then the set up allows the mafia to pick the secretary so unless the entire mafia team is idiots that shouldn't be a worry.

Unless its changed since I last saw it Secretary is randomly picked like any other role and they choose who dies with them if/when that happens.
