how often do these start? is there any way to look at how many people are still needed for an upcoming game to start?

yeah but that's boring. is there any way i can actually see how much progress is being made in getting enough players for the next game? or am i just at the mercy of the "f5 and stare at inbox" approach?

i've played maybe... idk maybe 15 or so games on another site so i wouldn't really classify myself as a "newbie." that being said, i've read through a few games on this site and things (game setup, how people play, etc) are very different than what I'm used to so i should probably play in a newbie to get myself accustomed to how things are done around here. is that dumb; should i skip the newbie phase?

yeah... i am used to 48 hour day cycles where d1's have more posts than an entire game gets on this site. and it wasn't spam, the average post tended to be much larger than posts here. in other words... the games were MUCH more active, and MUCH faster. on the other site a d1 could often have around 2,000 posts... and that's in a 48 hr d1. i expect my first game here to be quite a departure from what i'm used to

nope. it's not a mafia-based site, just a site that happens to have a small but dedicated mafia sub-forum. the player base on that site was much better at mafia (no offense :3) than my impressions of the average player on this site, but a good amount of the people there were egotistical jerks who weren't very fun to play with. i've read through a few games here and things seem a lot more casual, which I like.
