General Queue Information

New players will probably want to start playing one game here before playing elsewhere on the site.

Reply in this thread indicating that you'd like to play ("/in for next" is a standard way of doing so).

You will get a PM from your game moderator when your game is about to begin.

Your name should be added to the first post within 24-48 hours. The waiting time for a game to start is currently 4-5 days, on average. Upcoming games will be full when there is one Inexperience-Challenged (IC) player, two Semi-Experienced (SE) player(s), and six Newbie players available. More/less ICs and SEs may be used in any given game to relieve a backlog on those specific areas of the Queue.

Player Game Limits:

Newer Players

Brand new players may only play in
one
Newbie Game.
Brand new players may either play a Newbie game from scratch or replace into an existing Newbie game for your first game.
Once you are out of your first Newbie game (by lynch, night kill, or the end of the game) you may sign up for a second Newbie game.
Players with one finished game anywhere on site may also replace into as many Newbie games as you can handle.
Taking on too many Newbie games at one time, getting overloaded, and replacing out of those games can get you banned from the Newbie Queue!

SEs

When you finish your second game anywhere on this site, you are then considered a Semi-Experienced (SE) player and will occupy one of the SE playing spots.
Replacing out of a game will count as a finished game if there was an acceptable level of participation.
SE players may play in as many Newbie games as they can handle.

ICs

First and formost, the IC slot is a VOLUNTARY TEACHING position. If you don't want to be required to explain how the game works to the Newer players, you should sign up to be an SE. More information can be found in the wiki: IC.
A player that completes 5 games anywhere on-site and has at least 3 months on-site may apply to be an Inexperience Challenged (IC) player.
Send the ListMod a PM with links to your 5 most-recent completed games
when you /in to IC
.
All Potential ICs MUST also read Being a good IC.

For purposes of Player Game Limits:

A
finished
game is one in which you are out of the game (by lynch or night kill) but the game is still being played by others.
A
completed
game is a game in which a winning side has been declared and the game is over.

Players that qualify for SE or IC status may not enter an Alt into the Queue as a Newer Player.

Moderator Requirements:

Potential moderators must have one completed game on this site as a Moderator. See the Modding Requirements wiki article for exact details.
Potential moderators MUST visit the Newbie_Game#Moderators wiki page to see what is required of Newbie game Mods.
Potential moderators must include links to their completed games
when they make the request to be added to the modding rotation
. If you have more than two games as a Mod, please link the latest two.

Replacements:

If you want to replace into a specific game you should send a PM directly to the Mod instead of posting here.
Unless specified, all requested replacements are newbie replacements.
Moderators are welcome to replace with a player of greater skill level if they wish (ICs may replace SEs or Newbies, for example. Newbies may NOT replace into an SE or IC spot).
Please notify the ListMod if you notice a player replace out who then signs up to play another Newbie game within the next 14 days. Replacing due to boredom or any other similarly selfish reason is NOT acceptable and the offender will be suspended from placement into the Queue for a period of two weeks.

Aaaaaaaaaand we're back!!!

Here's how we're going to handle things:

We have deleted the players off of the Newer Players list, but maintained the Mods, SEs and ICs list. Since these are established players we'll have less issues with needing to replace them once a game starts. You may begin to sign up for games as normal and once we have 6 Newer players we'll start a new game.
All games are being moved out of The Road to Rome, since they are "finished".
For the Mods that had an active game before the crash, you have two options:
You may let us know that you want to rejoin the Queue from scratch. You will be bumped to the front of the Queue list and put into the next available game as the game Mod. Or, if you want to attempt to restart your old game, let singer know. In order to continue one of the old games, you must have complete access to the cache of the game and you must get confirmation from 2/3 of the living players on the game list saying they are interested in continuing the game.

Mods have ONE WEEK from this post to let us know either way if they wish to be bumped or attempt a restart. After that, we're not dealing with it any longer and you will be entered into the Queue as if you /in'd normally.

If you continue your game, you will maintain your old game number. All new games will start with game number 1221.
Players should direct any questions about whether their game is going to continue to their respective game Mod. If your game is not going to continue, you should /in as normal to the Queue to start a new game. Due to the potential sheer volume of players, we will not be able to bump anyone to the front of the Queue if your game is not being continued.
Games that were not complete at the time of the crash will be entered into the Wiki as "Abandoned due to the Great Crash of 2012". We will make every attempt to list the games that were actually completed as such in the wiki, but we need to be able to verify with cache data in order to do so. If you have cache data on a game that should be listed as complete in the wiki, please send it to Vel-Rahn Koon.

This is exactly what we need if you intend to restart. Equinox just find a proper replacement (newbie, se, ic) for the missing slot if you know the 3rd isn't coming back.

My suggestion is to start a brand-new thread, title it Newbie 1198, and in your first post (after the intro, rules, roles, etc.) put a link to the cached data. I will go through for the restarted games and edit the Queue list to make sure the list of games points to the right place.

/in as IC, unless Untrod Tripod intends to restart game #1218 with re-randomized roles (while it was lost in the crash, there was a mod error that compromised the game with the D1 flip), in which case I'll IC that one (first time ICing).

AFAIK he is going to attempt a restart. It would be a good time to just redo Day 1 if everyone is ok with it.

I moved this past weekend; my computer is still in transit. I should have it Wednesday or Thursday; I will advise ASAP on the status of Newbie 1208. (Just wanted you to know why I'm not telling you about it now.) I am reasonably sure that it's going to be abandoned; I am not sure if any of the game has been recovered. I will check my browser cache when I get my computer.
