@everyone I just thought of another strategy that would be interesting.

How about we have everyone use their flip so that 13 squares are all showing. This way we can maximize the amount of pr shots that the town will get because everyone will have lots of options to choose from. 9 town prs > 3 scum prs.

I can sort of see where LLD is coming from, but the reason it doesn't work in this setup is because there are only a few possible word combinations. It doesn't work like scrabble because there are more three-letter words you can form than PR exchange combinations and as such, shooting blind isn't a great idea.

AV makes a good point.

Also, I mentioned this to the mod, but I think some of the powers you get are disproportionate to the letters required. Like a weak doc needs more (and rarer) letters than a doc.

IceGUY's plan is the best so far.

Well I guess to judge who is towniest and who is scummiest, why don't we do a ranking from 1-13 each and then add them up. The person with the lowest number is towniest and the highest is scummiest. While this gives scum around 23% of the decision, they still have to back it up so I think that shouldn't be an issue.

And my idea for picking the letters is we all flip, and do a draft pick. The order is determined by a ranking made by each person of all the other players not including themselves. This is then assigned a numerical value (1-9 from towniest to scummiest or whatever it is), and the towniest player with the lowest number picks first, and so on, until all pro-town and null letters are gone. Leave the scummy ones alone on the board.

Well, I think it's more for those letters VM stated were completely pro-scum. Like the ninja or strongman one. I'm just going off his analysis for this, I haven't verified it myself.

Sidenote, I find phoneposting easier when tipsy. Then again I rarely ever post from a PC so it could be just me getting used to it.

I agree with Hoopla. A draft pick where the players get to choose what they do. Another flaw in the old plan of giving ubertowns Cs and other good letters is that NKs hit us doubly hard, taking away power and strong town.

IG: the reason I suggest a full playerlist analysis is because doing a top three or a top 5 lends scum a larger percentage of the decision process. Well, I didn't do the maths properly, but this is from mental calcs. Furthermore it allows for full disclosure and responsibility. I'm thinking we should place a deadline (say a week before actual deadline) for those things and have letter picking then.

Well okay, that's my two cents with the setup spec. I'm a fan of draft picking but yeah losing obvtown with powers might be too much a cost.

@ MoI: everytime I play you think I'm playing like I did in MST3K. I guess you're warranted to be wary if you think that is the case. Regarding Hoopla, just because they're smart or make good points doesn't make them town. What was your issue with my draft pick plan?

Personally I don't like the take whatever letter thing. Like, I'd rather have an order in which we go, and when it's your turn you can go with whatever letter.

Regarding Arugula, he's just always like this. A bit clueless and stuff. Him coming up with a plan already made is something I'd expect. null. This also applies to his recent play.

Still good on my Hoopla vote atm.

What do you want explained? It seems pretty explanatory.

Arugula wasn't playing like I normally see him as town (ie meek), so I voted for him.

Anyways, the point is the dissonance between the two points made. Previously vijay stated how AVox was able to analyze the game and give good spec, but was secretive with what he knew. Based on this, vijay is saying that AVox's lack of outstanding speculation makes him nervous.

However, in the second quote, he's trying to construe it as if AVox could actually use it against him, which he shouldn't have to worry about unless he's on the opposite side of AVox.

P-EDIT: Yeah, that's the problem part of the post.

Okay I don't see the issue. Simple terms. AVox is good at setup spec. In the past game, he did it in the QT, keeping it from town. He is now not contributing to setup spec. I am afraid he could be keeping it from us which is bad. If he is town, he still should be contributing because he's good at this stuff.

I thought DCL was likely to be scum because of somebody else's point. When I get something of my own to add, I will. I'm not going to go back over what was already discussed and paraphrase what others say and try to pass it off as a case.

I don't see where MoI supposedly claimed scum. Right now, DCL is the most likely scum. I can look through and read parts of the game if you want, but I'm travelling so that'll take some time.
