LADIESNIGHT2:NOCOVER
More players. More choices. More responsibilities. A town of twelve women were able to overcome three scum. What will happen when the stakes are higher? Using only their wits, and a few choice powers, will an uninformed majority trump the informed minority once again? This is Mafia.

Setup Information
Ladies Night will use a Semi-Open setup with only normal roles.
- No power roles will be replicated (with the exception of the Mason, see below).
- If a Mason is pulled, a second is automatically added.
- If a Deputy is pulled, there must be a Cop in play or we redraw.
- Random.org will be used to conduct the drawing.
All Potential Roles
Game Rules
-VotingVotes must be in bold, clear context (Vote: RedCoyote/Vote: No Lynch). This is your power, and we both want it to be counted fairly. Please try to make it so there's no question who you are voting and unvoting. Unvotes are not necessary. There will be no tolerance for vote tricks. Please do not try to play with any technical aspect of this rule. If challenged, I will most likely rule against the player responsible for any voting confusion during the game.
-LynchingOnce a player is lynched, the game will go into "twilight", and the fate of the town has effectively been sealed for that day phase. The town, as well as the player who has been lynched, is welcome to continue to talk until I officially bring the game into the night phase. The townmustreach a simple majority before the deadline in order for a lynch to go through. Ties will not be broken by me, no matter which wagon formed first. If the town cannot reach a majority or break a tie before the deadline, the day phase will end without a lynch. This town has the option not to lynch, provided it meets the required simple majority of votes.
-DeadlinesAll deadlines are subject to extension should the need arise. This game is using bankable deadlines. All unused days (rounding off to the nearest day) will be "banked" for the following day phase. The Day 1 deadline is set for 14 days, and all following days will be set at 9 days (before adding any banked time). Every day phase may be extended once either by means of a simple majority of players or by my discretion. By contrast, every night phase has a firm 72 hour, or three day, deadline.
-Absence, Prods, and ReplacementsIf you are unable to post for a period of longer than 72 hours, please inform me by PM or make it clear in the game thread. All players have a right to know whether or not a player is absent, and any player who informs me of a future absence will be noted as such. Prods will take place at the request of the players in the game as well as at my discretion. If a player receives a prod, they have exactly 24 hours from the time of that prod to show activity before a request for a replacement will be made. At that point, whomever claims the player slot will become the person playing the game.
-Night ActionsI will accept any and all actions submitted to me pre-night phase. If no night action is submitted to me before the end of the night phase, the player is assumed to have slept through the night, and no action will take place. Standard active night action orders are as follows: Roleblocks > Protections > Conversions > Manipulations > Shots > Investigations
-ProhibitionsTo help ensure a fair, balanced, and fun game, it is prohibited to talk to fellow players about the game outside of this thread unless you are given specific instructions on how to do so. All players who have been lynched, killed, or otherwise removed from the game are prohibited from making any new posts or talking with any of the living players about the game until the game has been declared over. Respecting tradition, "Bah!" posts are tolerated, but you must respect the boundaries of the game. No player is allowed to post anything game related in their post-death post, so please use common sense when and if you decide to make one. It is prohibited to quote or paraphrase any Mod PMs for any purpose other than to claim or explain one's powers. It is prohibited to use invisible text, small text, encrypted text, or to otherwise edit your post in anyway. It is prohibited to use the colorin order to make sure there are no quarrels over what is and isn't an edit that I have made. I will only be using the colorredin edits. Any form of trolling, misbehavior, or poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated and is hereby prohibited.red
-Questions and ConcernsDo not hesitate in asking me for assistance in understanding any aspect of this game. If anyone spots any mistakes I may have made, please send me a PM. You may expect a response within a maximum of 48 hours. If there is anything else you feel I have not covered, or have not covered adequately, please point it out to me.
-Thank youThanks to Empking, Tarhalindur, and bv310 for helping review this game. If anything happens to me, bv310 has all of the role PMs and who they belong to, and he is the game's official back-up Moderator. Thanks to Cruciare, Vi, Hoopla, and zoraster, as I've stolen general moderation ideas from them to (hopefully) make my games more enjoyable and efficient. Thanks to everyone for signing up, and I hope everyone has a good time.- RedCoyote

An exciting start to the sequel of Ladies Night! Right out of the gate our beguiling player list had proven themselves a fitting countenance of the game's theme, but how would they fare strategically?
"I don't claim."
Telo's words sat still in the room like a thick, musty odor. Did she know she had just sealed her fate with such a policy? DGB could hardly contain her glee. "LAUNCH LYNCH SEQUENCE", she exclaimed, and a majority of players were only too happy to oblige. Telo remained thoroughly unconvinced with their arguments, drawing analogies to other games like poker.
...But Sucrose had had enough. This wasn't her first rodeo. Pointing to the impending deadline, she rationalized, "Except this won't ever work, ever, because I agree with Goofball; I'll lynch youeverytime for doing this."
And with that, our Ladies make history. And Telo? Well, some might say you've got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, and know when to claim. Unfortunately for the mafia, theirhas gone bust. What a way to start the game.Role Cop

With ten votes, that's a successful lynch and an end to day 1.

Apokalyptika rolled her shoulders and adjusted her elbows on the table as she waited for the night to finish. With more power roles, the night seemed to take a little longer than she remembered in the previous game. Telo was arguably the most valuable member of the scumteam... this was indisputably the best start the town could've got. She was definitely satisfied with that... or was she? One thing's for sure, everyone had to act like they were. This may make it more difficult to find the remaining scum.
The day started a little later than usual, but the town did manage to bank a little time. Telo's chair was still empty, but so was the chair next to it. That was where Bunnylover was sitting, Sucrose thought. She reached down to pick up a familiar name placard. In big blue letters the wordwas written on the bottom. At the other side of the table, camn was somewhat disappointed to see one of her potential suspects missing as well. CityElectric and Bunnylover were both gone, did the town lose two Vanilla Townies? camn announced that that wasn't the case. Worse, CityElectric appeared to be aTownie. How she died should lead to some interesting discussion.Bodyguard

With fifteen alive, it takes eight to lynch.
The town has added one day to the deadline, this, plus the added base of 9 days, brings the town a total for one week and three days.

Through patience, determination, and hard work, we get through another day with the hopes of achieving similarly productive results. Although perhaps not quite as wily as the original game, the town were well on their way to being just as successful.
TraceyLyn and DGB wrangle for control over the fate of the day. Tracey, hampered with inactivity, struggles to push for Sucrose to catch more scorn. DGB remains steadfast in her pursuit of RachMarie, however. "But you're far from obvtown," Tracey bites, "You're just the leader." PiggyGal chimes in on DGB's behalf. Leadership qualities are always the bane of a mafia team's existence, she would insist.
RachMarie tries in vain to capture some love from her fellow players. "I dont have a lot of time to provide what I can for the town", she would plea. Tracey, perhaps finding common ground with DGB's take on Sucrose, is just as sharp with RachMarie.
"You've been inactive and unhelpful for the majority of this game."
Rach takes the news of her death about as courteously as a lady would. As the lights begin to dim, Rach is replaced with that always ominous placard. You know the one. Except this town hadn't lynched ayet, so maybe you don't. Either way, the town seems to have hit its first road block.Townie

A town lynch was inevitable Tammy thought to herself calmly. She was on her game though. She was ready for the third day to start. She had this game down solid. She knew her alignment, and the scum were...
*TAP TAP TAP*
A tap on her shoulder. She'd get up and leave the room momentarily before coming back in. This was standard practice for the game. It kept things fair and equal. All the players leave the room at some point during the night. The dark room... ugh, it felt like this night was taking forever. She tried not to let herself get distracted, but she was just anxious. She knew she was a, but she knew the way people were voting, or, more precisely,Townieweren'tvoting, could lead to some great results. To her, it was obvious the scum were...
Oh. Huh. She stood outside with a fellow player, Apokalyptika. She had kind of expected her to die tonight, so it was weird that she would see her outside of the game room. Unless...
Apokalyptika, which she soon learned was also a, and she walked into the adjacent room. There were definitely some familiar faces in here, although not the kind she'd hoped to see so soon. She was in the graveyard, and D3 would start without her.Townie

Another day slowly ticks by, but how much closer are we to solving the puzzle? No power roles have claimed, in fact, things have remained relatively civil. Well, as civil as a Mafia game can be...
"Your excuse is DENIED"
DGB stood up and affirmed her suspicions of Huntress. She felt like she had a pretty good beat on the game. Seastorm immediately pitches in, just the tiniest bit of sweat on her brow. DGB, surprised, is ready to hear what she has to say.
"..."
Nothing. A whole lot of nothing. Fujiko and PiggyGal15 look at one another. The clock continued to click down. Maybe they had more in agreement than previously thought.
"springlullaby and DGB's back and forth looks like it's between two townies."
"Pretty much everything that could be said about scumsea has already been said, and I agree with it all completely (mainly just what DGB has been saying)"
"Tracey still looks like a stubborn townie to me."
"townTracey is - dare I say it - looking like an actual possibility."
While they were busy finding agreements with one another, Seastorm's nervousness grew. This wasn't like Telo's lynch at all. Telo took her lynch on the chin, fighting her battle all the way to the very end. She felt boxed in, unable to speak, put off by the sudden swath of agreements that she was to be lynched. She eked out her claim as the time slowly ticked down, promising that she had a post that would fix everything. She didn't want to let her teammates down. Maybe she could do like Tracy had done. Yeah! That's it! All she had to do wa-
"As for seastorm, no one that is actually town claims without reads and then disappears. No one."
Amrun aggressively called a halt to the day. Seastorm, a, was cut from the conversation. Good riddance, she not-so-secretly thought. Blasting out her last words of apathy and consternation as she bit the dust. Two down, and two to go.Mafia Goon

The ladies all sat smugly in their chairs. The two mafia secretly upset at the prior day's lynch notwithstanding, the game was going pretty darn well. This time a lurker scum was put to rest. If she had just been given a little more time, things may have been different. She was working on something major, but she just couldn't get it out fast enough. Amrun leaned back and thought with a quiet determination. Had she done the right thing? She just hammered her partner... but it had to have bought he some serious creditability, right? She was now the last, and she planned to keep it that way. She left the darkness of the room with her partner. They discussed their course of action. As Amrun turned to go back into the room, the Mod told her that it wouldn't be necessary.Mafia Goon
Wouldn't be necessary?
The Mod told her she should go to the room next door.

No remorse. No debate. No room for error. The reveal of a power role gives the town clarity. The success of the previous night cannot be overlooked. Could this be the the end to the game?
"I am a roleblocker", Fujiko announced. She claimed she had spent the night stopping spring from taking any action. This coupled with the death of Amrun, the final Mafia Goon, was a tough hurdle for spring to get around. Fujiko exhaled deeply, hoping that what made the most sense would indeed be the case. To wit, that spring's attempt at shooting another townie was prevented by her ability. She knew she was a, but would the others back her up?Roleblocker
Immediately the town supported her claim with their votes in consent. First Sucrose, atownie, came to Fujiko's side, then the rest all seemed to follow swift and easily. Huntress, Brandi, Tracey... allBulletproof, and the last town power role, Mala, the successfulTownies. Just like that, the lynch happened. camn, DGB, and PiggyGal, the remainingVigilante, seemed to be in agreement as well. Leaving only spring. No chance to speak. No chance to defense herself. No chance to win. She couldn't pinpoint exactly when it was the game had gotten so far away from her. Maybe it was the disastrous end to the first day. Maybe it was when she couldn't capitalize on the seemingly inevitable Tracy lynch. Maybe it was when she couldn't slow the momentum that lead to losing Seastorm. Maybe it was losing Amrun on a fluke. Maybe it was not getting a kill in that last night. But whatever it was, itTownieswas. spring, the, was put to rest, and the game was now over.Godmother

Graveyard (Dead QT)
Backroom (Scum QT)
In a lot of ways, this game was very similar to the first one. I can think of at least a couple of key similarities. One, there was a scum player that could never seem to shake suspicion away from herself (Seastorm, although, truth be told, you could apply this to almost every player on the scumteam). Two, the scumteam could not kill off the power roles (City's death notwithstanding). Three, seemingly every VT in this game did a big service to their town, even if it was only through dying. Tammy attracted a nightkill just for being so on point. Although Apok and Bunny both attracted vig kills, it helped in the sense that it unmuddied the waters, as it were. It left the town more able to freely look for the real bad guys instead of just the distractions. Every move the town made from the word go was helpful, I thought.
Frankly, the town in this game played a step above the town in the first game. This is saying something because I was really impressed with the town of the first game. The scumteam just could not ever get in sync. To some extent, there is individual blame to be had (Telo not attempting to out PRs, Seastorm & Amrun lurking through key moments in the game, spring not getting a kill submitted in time), but there was, I thought, a genuine lack of cohesion between them from very early on. They all attempted to get it together at various times, but it seemed like when one of the scum members stepped up for the team, the other three were preoccupied with life. That person would then disappear and another lady would step up in her place. And it just kind of went on like that. By the time Seastorm had died, if not earlier, the scumteam was just in tatters. I don't think the scumteam as a whole playedbadnecessarily. I think there was just four very different players that couldn't ever sync up. Each making a mistake at some point that hurt the overall team.
That's not to take away from some outstanding performances on the town side though. Some noteworthy moments. DGB with her laser-like precision in nailing some connections between Seastorm, Amrun, and spring. Tracey stepping upbigtime despite all odds. Fujiko with a block that did spring in (even if it didn't actually do anything). PiggyGal being able to come back from an early wagon. City's successful protect that, despite never being built on, foiled the scum and would've seriously changed the entire outcome of this game had she not protected DGB. Telo attempted to connect herself to PiggyGal in vain, but I think she has a knack for getting others to see her as town despite it all. Eidolon being able to successfully navigate without ever really arising suspicion from the town nor interest in the scumteam's kill. Brandi, Huntress, and camn all sticking to the game and forcing their points at one time or another. Even if they were or weren't instrumental in getting a scum lynch to go through, they did well to make themselves look town enough to avoid being lynched themselves. At any given point, if these three had let the game slip too far away, the outcomes could've been very different. Sucrose even played a nice form of backup. She successfully caught the scumteam's attention and could very well have drawn a shot in some alternate universe due to her play.
So let me get to MVPs and a few closing notes before I start to repeat myself.
I think it's both easy and hard to pick an MVP for the scumteam. It's easy because spring showed the most tenacity in the game throughout (Amrun & Seastorm really picked it up right before their respective deaths, but it was too little, too late). It's hard because each of the players struggled for large portions of the game. Not to be too harsh, but I would rank spring's play at around average. It fell short in some parts due to lack of teamwork, some parts due to ill-timed lurking, some parts due to attempted misdirection (e.g. Brandi, Tracey) that didn't pan out in her favor. Not all of this could be put on her shoulders of course, but when you miss a night kill, townies are calling for your lynch, the roleblocker is on you... you're definitely struggling at concealing your alignment for whatever reason.
It is definitely very hard to pick an MVP for the town. My heart tells me to pick DGB. I'm biased though; I always thinks she plays so very strongly as town (as is evident by the first game as well as what I say in the Dead QT). Even when she's wrong, she's so reasonable in her conclusions that I'm finding myself thinking that DGB is never wrong... role PMs just got sent to the wrong people. Or maybe like that Spyrex quote, "I always find scum... sometimes they just aren't mafia." I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea. You can go through her posts and see her putting the pieces together that would lead Amrun, Sea, and spring all as scumreads. Another very strong performance was from Malakittens. Get this: she replaces in at night, shoots one scum based on her read of the game, and then hammers the last one in her first post in the game. How's that for efficiency? How many of y'all have seen someone effectively kill two scum in with one post in the game? That's an unheard of level of success. Because of that, I'm going to honestly say Malakittens steals the gold away from DGB. Honorable mentions out to pretty much every town player though. There was virtually no point in this game that I thought the town was doing something that would really hurt their chances at success in the long run. Theworstthing that happened to the town was an informative mislynch of a VT in Rach, which is really saying a lot.
But I hope everyone enjoyed the game. I certainly enjoyed reading it and following along. I feel like Hurricane Sandy put a bit of a damper on the game. It definitely caused the scumteam some grief. I also want to note that, in retrospect, I have no idea why I was so anal about the color tags. I regret that and hope y'all don't hold that against me. I guess I was on a bit of a power trip that day, because I have allowed players to use red when it was obvious in context that they were using them for VCA. When I realized how dumb that was, I thought it would be even more disruptive to go back and try and fix it. It's not the Mod's job to be nitpicky about crap like that, I think.
One last thing I'll say before closing this way too long of a post. I'm so happy with each and every one of you that signed up (especially a shoutout to the replacements in Mala, Tracey, and Apok). I was very discouraged at the amount of players that decided not to come back and play again after the first game. The first game was one of the best games I've ever spectated on the site. But with the disappointment I had with a majority of the players not returning, it was completely replaced (and then some) with all the new faces to fill the remaining slots up. So thanks to all of you for that. Really.- RedCoyote

It was a tough decision, but both her and Amrun posted during the night in the QT as you can see. Neither of them submitted a "placeholder" kill while they discussed. They were both aware that there was a deadline. I also extended that night due to Eidolon's replacementandlet them both know that I was getting ready to start the day... so, I mean, I don't know what else I could've done short of making a kill for them. That's my ruleset though, Brandi. I don't believe in Random Choice Selection or whatever other alternative. - RedCoyote
